Minten isn't going anywhere, they need centre depth. I wouldn't even trade Minten straight up for Kadri. He could be better than him in a 2-4 years.

I understand wanting to keep Minten. I really like him too. But the Leafs contention window is now. Minten is not helping them win anything this year... probably not next year either. The Leafs desperately need a solid 2C or 3C. Kampf is a 4th liner, and he's playing 17 mins a night because they don't have anyone else. That being said, if you give up Minten I would hope you get someone better and younger than Kadri. McBain from Utah for example.

@@miggslor9985 I somewhat agree with that, but if the Leafs intention is to sign Marner(which past history they are resigning everyone), the window is much longer than now. Maybe when Matthews contract winds down could be the end of the window. The time when the Leafs push the chips in to go for it shouldn't be this year unfortunately. Next year the cap is going up big, Tavares contract will be up so he's making much less. They will have the most room next year to go all in.

@Vlaxx905 it's a tough league. Your best players are in their prime. In that situation, never assume anything. You have to take your chances when you get them. Leafs should try and win the division. If that means trading Minten or even Cowan for the right player. You do it. Not for a rental or Naz. The right player that can help them for the next 2 or 3 years. And he has to a centre.
