In 1987 you could not get t-tops with a 350, you had to get the 305. If you wanted a 350 you got a hardtop. This changed in 88 or 89, but in '87 they were worried the car wouldn't be rigid enough for the extra torque. 350 was also only available with an automatic. If you wanted a manual you had to get a 305.

Interesting car but you keep saying all original car and yet it has been repainted and the motor rebuilt, and the top possibly replaced, and the carpet and armrest replaced and not even dyed to the correct color. And the A/C no longer functions, so it is not an "all original " car it is mostly original in appearance but not a survivor.

If it had been a Western Mass. Sport Special it would just be a pile of rust by now. I had a '69 Swinger with 170 slant six and 3-on-the-tree in the late 70s that I bought for $495. Not exactly a chick magnet; I should've had a Celica or similar, but I loved it. Same seats - they were in bad shape when I got the car in '76. Steering wheel was already cracked then - had a wrapper similar to this specimen.

That's pretty, nice survivor!!! Preserve it just as it is as much you can. I notice, and I could be wrong, but the three pointed Dodge emblems on the sides of the roof look upside down to me. Do you know if the vinyl roof was redone at some point, or mistake from the factory? BTW, you did not have to mention, or see the license plate to know you are from Maine, lol. I had a Plymouth 'Scamp' a '73 (I think?) it was brown, and had the 'canopy' top, a sort of peanut butter color! I thought the 'Scamps' (just a first cousin to the Dodge Dart 'Swinger') all had bigger engines, but mine was a slant six car. I gave it to a friend, and she drove it for about 5 years.

Had one in high school in the 70's. Slant Six that you couldn't kill. Wish I still had it. And by "had one" I mean a 69 Western Sport Special.

I could loose any cop car in this, on the Southern Oregon coast. Stock. I have, actually, no cop car could keep up through the streets of Port Orford, Sixes River Road, China Mountain, Humbug Mountain S turns. I had one, with Stahlflex P205 60s. This car corners way better than it looks like it should, with rear air shocks. The 2.8L V6 was robust. Definitely a sporty car, tons of fun. Merkur Capri, made in West Germany. Tight tolerances. Mine, in 1984, 10 years old, would pop your ears when closing the door. So I kept 1 rear pop open window slightly open to avoid ear pops. That is how tight the then West Germans did it. Gorgeous car. My favourite car ever.

I had a 1973 in 1976 with a 2600 V6 and a 4bbl carb, duel exhaust with hush thrush muffler and a 4speed . Drove awesome , sounded sweet.

Just got a 78 mk3 gold capri ghia 2.3 , i lucked out in a big way

I had one of these and the stupid turbo wasn’t intercooled and the turbo went bad and that had to be replace first off and the cobra package is just stickers nothing more . There was other turbo mustangs and they just lack the stickers .

I do not know if you're aware. however they are now selling a toy car of the 1974 pontiac gto by johnny lightning in a red color. I don't want to put the exact link on here, since it may get deleted. it is easy to search for and purchase though. I know this is a 1974 chevrolet nova. however if enough people purchase that similar style of toy car and they sell out, then they may decide to make another one for the chevrolet nova style. it is in very limited number edition so you may want to get one. if you're interested in it.

I had one yellow in newyork back in 76 a gt and the fenders didn't come bolted on but spot welded

Not the tires. The rack and pinion went bad on these. Mine would bounce off the road between 27 and 34 miles per hour.

This car is a super fun and fast car, even stock, it had solid lifters, (you can hear it), and nylon timing gears, i had one , had a offenhauser 360 manifold holly 260 vacuum secondary 4 bbl. , bored .030 over, mild Norris cam, cast iron headers, balanced to 10K, and it was pretty hard to beat... could keep up at 120 mph continuously... I miss it :(
