I had this exact same car as my first car is rust brown and absolutely loaded with every option. These were a fantastic little car to drive. And the sound of that 2800 when the exhaust was allowed to really breath was glorious. Good Lord was that a fun car. 👍🏻😎👍🏻

My first car, exact colors in and out. Bought in 1975 used 10,000 miles for $2,000. I loved that car. Kept it for 8 years. It was considered cool and very admired. I remember it shaking back then too if went too fast. Rust was a big problem but that was the times. This brought back memories seeing the inside same color.

Capris were HUGE here in England, they were kinda our Mustang. Shame it has those OTT US bumpers but a very, very cool car and increasing in value a lot over here.

my brother and i got a 74 capri for a old lady for dirt cheap about a year ago, the car is immaculate all original. its funny how similar we both got them. last time the car was registered was late 90, and all it needed was a new starter cable. same yellow like you're with the v6 and ours is a auto tho. right now im working on the gas tank, rust find a way.

This car is a super fun and fast car, even stock, it had solid lifters, (you can hear it), and nylon timing gears, i had one , had a offenhauser 360 manifold holly 260 vacuum secondary 4 bbl. , bored .030 over, mild Norris cam, cast iron headers, balanced to 10K, and it was pretty hard to beat... could keep up at 120 mph continuously... I miss it :(

NIce!! Lots of guys made those into canyon racers to compete with modded 510 Datsuns! Those were pretty quick considering, loved the sound of the solid lifters. Cars had a ton of potential and were good looking .

My '72 Capri (2600 V-6) used to shake like crazy at certain speeds. I believe it was because of the cheap front suspension bits. Ford used a Macpherson strut setup in which the anti-roll bar was used to locate the lower control arm fore and aft. When the rubber bushings would age, they allowed the front wheels to shimmy badly. Other than that, I loved my Capri - "the sexy European" indeed!

I could loose any cop car in this, on the Southern Oregon coast. Stock. I have, actually, no cop car could keep up through the streets of Port Orford, Sixes River Road, China Mountain, Humbug Mountain S turns. I had one, with Stahlflex P205 60s. This car corners way better than it looks like it should, with rear air shocks. The 2.8L V6 was robust. Definitely a sporty car, tons of fun. Merkur Capri, made in West Germany. Tight tolerances. Mine, in 1984, 10 years old, would pop your ears when closing the door. So I kept 1 rear pop open window slightly open to avoid ear pops. That is how tight the then West Germans did it. Gorgeous car. My favourite car ever.

Agree, first ride in one of these I was impressed . At 75 it would swap lanes on the fwy way better than expected. Solid lifter 6 was seamless loved it Lotta guys raced those back in the day

Not the tires. The rack and pinion went bad on these. Mine would bounce off the road between 27 and 34 miles per hour.

I had a yellow 72. Those 5 mph bumpers on the 74 ruined the car's looks. They should have done a little body work on the rust before they sprayed it.

No exterior Brand name emblems ? Why is ford So embarrassed to have a name on the outside or anywhere for that matter, Super strange what ford does every now and then, but this thing is a super lemon and it sat super neglected because of the lemon factor and super ugly from all angles,a major money pit this thing is for the next sucker who can't live without it.
