i have a HP DL580 G7 but won't fire up? i have a amber power light and on the little panel there is a red light flashing after i have pressed the power on but no life coming from it whatsoever, could you shed any light on it, i have changed to psu's but still same. there are no other lights showing or flashing i just have amber power light showing and red flashing light thanks

Hello! Great video(s) this has taken me 1 step closer to my goal. I'm currently working for a company that enables circular IT equipment. We are still building up our knowledge about the devices, and different erasure methods. I've jumped into the rabbithole of Server erasure, and I'm currently stuck at some point. We are running Blancco (erasure software) to erase all our products. I can run this via USB, and it starts up fine. But my issue is that I can't get access to the Blancco Management Console, which is where I get my licenses. Do you have any idea of how I can connect the blades to the network? I tried changing the module from SFP connectors, to Ethernet Passthrough, but then I get an error where the blades are saying they are incompatible. These are PowerEdge M640 Blades btw. I'm just struggling to get the Blade Centre to connect to my network.. Please let me know if you have a good solution for my problem :) Thanks

11 years later... here I am still using PE 2800 server. I'm about to replace the riser card. Do we need to reconfigure the array? I came in to work today to find the server rebooted on its own overnight but it is stuck during POST. Normally I see the following during POST: PowerEdge Expandable RAID Controller... Press <Ctrl><R> to Run Configuration Utility This time, the above message does not show up at all. Server won't boot. I suspect PERC is dead. I'm hoping that I won't have to reconfigure my RAID5 array and reinstall OS after replacing the card. I've never replaced a RAID controller. I hope you or anyone gets this message.

Hi Mate , I have this exact server and was running Truenas , Recently I wanted to upgrade a bit so I added a HBA card , 2x PCIe M.2 SSD and a GTX 1660 super ( for plex transcode ) . Now the server fan is at constant 33 - 50 % and its quite noisy in the house . If I remove the PCIe devies , the fans are back to 13% and very quiet . Is there any way to get the fans go quieter ?. Is it possible to replace the motherboard with a completely different one with newer components and card slots? Would any ATX motherboard work in this case? I like the case, but want to upgrade to something that allows for new video connections (or a video card).

6 1/2 years later - still useful! I have one of these as my Home server now and it suffered a Lightning hit in my house. Lost Mobo and PERC controller card. Got another off eBay for $150 shipped and was able to swap from the eBay damaged case, YAY!!!! And Yes, it did take just a little bit longer - I was so surprised it was THAT easy!

hi i need ur help. i have connected a usb keyboard, mouse and vga monitor to the front panel of the m1000e chasis. when ipress print screen nothing happens i dont get this window to go through the blades and select. Tried on back panel too on ikvm switch but same issue.

I have the Power Edge SC1420 and you have the 1430. You didn't mention the socket used for your CPU'S, What are they? Are your cpu sockets the same as the Cpu sockets on mine?

When you replaced the CPU Heatsinks, I noticed you didn't apply any thermal compound. Did the heatsinks already have heatsink pads pre-installed? Or was this "heatsink install without thermal paste" done by mistake?

Hey guys, I'm trying to install a GTX 1080 Ti in this same server but it doesn't work. I replaced the power supplies for 1200 Watts and the card lights up but after a few minutes it says "Please power Down and Connect the PCIe power's cables for this graphic cards". I tried everything but it always come with the same result. Thank you !!
