I wonder if he calls someone with a gun when he feels threatened. How ironic.

Just did this on a 2012 Fiat 500 Lounge. I tried just reflowing solder joints on the relays first, but that did nothing. Replacing the relays was the magic. I cut the existing risers with a small cutoff wheel (very carefully) and split them into small sections with side cutters. Then I was able to easily heat and press out the pins one or two at a time. I used the exact replacement risers and they worked great for easy experimentation with the reflow before going all in on the relay replacement. Solder sucker didn't get me anywhere. I used flux and desoldering braid with my $10 soldering iron along with a lot of patience to get the old relays off. Thanks a million.

I just bought one of these and I want to do a similar restoration. I want to paint my base semi gloss black and paint my blade guard gloss black and put a nice red and white makita decal on the blade guard before clear coating. Not sure if im going to polish the aluminum handle housing but if I do, I'd like to fix up my crusty nameplate. How did you get your nameplate to look so nice?

For those little tact switches... the deoxit needle applicator bottle will fix em. If you push down on the button cap and work the needle into the switch housing (very gently) and then drip some deoxit into it, then press the button 50-100 times to really work that deoxit into the contacts... Fixed many many shot tact switches on old MPC 2000s this way. The contacts get oxidized (as you know) and really a little bit of deoxit is enough to clean em up (like anything... deoxit is a miracle liquid!)

Hello so after 6 months, was there any problem with this upgrade? Is the location of the resitor good, i mean with the heat it generates cant it melt the plastic of the tail light? Thank you!

Yes. Very good. Tapping the pump will start the pump. It will need to be replaced soon. The Canadian price for the pump is about 80CAD. Thank you. Blessings

Dude Tripath chip based amps sound awesome. Paired with the right speakers (high eff full range back loaded horns for example) they are sublime. simple supply and demand. The demand comes from the fact that they sound awesome are rare now = price goes up. That Tripath chip also made it into the chip hall of fame.

My Ramsa console does not have an insert input on the channels. Is it easy to create an insert input and pull it with wires using a soldering iron?

Thanks so much for posting this. I’ve got the same deck and the belts on mine weren’t just stretched, or broken, they had basically turned to black gum wrapped around the pulleys. A day or so after I ordered replacement belts (also amazed how available they were), I had them installed based on your video. The deck is like brand new, and I can get on with transferring some treasured recordings to digital.

I have a junkyard-pick BCM with a good relay. Wondering if, and thinking that, all the car-specific logic is on the lower board? Could I pull the upper board with the relays off the donor BCM and install it with those pin headers to the lower logic board on my car's original BCM? To bypass the de-solder step... at least for however long the old replacement relay works?
@HerrK42 ай бұрын
For the record, this works. I swapped in the entire good board using the pin headers in this video and everything is resolved. Car starts, no codes or security messages, and my headlights work again woot! This was a great tutorial!

Check the actuator under the battery, the plastic rips and won't make vacuum. Also check the switch on the transfer case they like to stick. Did all the vacuum lines and fuel lines on my zr2 very fun to do.

i built a nice tumbler for rusty dirty parts.. but my wire wheel is much quicker. and i like the wheel because i usualy heat mine after the wheel in an old grill to about 400 425 and then dunk them in used oil.. turns them beautiful black and seals them from rusting...

I made kind of a panic purchase and bought the whole assembly for $300 because the $100 pump wasn't available. It will be installed this weekend - then I'll investigate the old parts to see what caused the problem. Thanks for the video.

Good job. I've seen many poorly designed weak point failures on many consumer products, too many to believe they're unintentional. One comes to mind is a Ford motor that used a rubber belt for the internal oil pump drive. No one would check or replace a cheapo belt bc it cost hundreds of $ to get to it. When it fails you need a new motor.

My Whirlpool of 2 years started doing this today. I put my stethoscope on it while it was just sitting and could hear it "click-click" 4x and then stop like it was trying. I was able to bump it to start again with a crowbar under it. Alarmingly the heating element would heat while sitting there to the point of a plastic melting smell. Our last dishwasher did this and melted the bottom of the washer! I will be repairing the circulation pump and modifying these bushings. Thanks so much for the information! It's infuriating that these companies cut corners on the simplest things.
