When you play a game that has no EOMM./SBMM do you realize just how BAD and FAKE your experience is in most games, nothing that happens is random, its all a sham.

Nick Mercs has played allot of Apex which has EOMM. I also played allot of Apex and now playing rivals i've noticed allot of simularities in the matchmaking to apex matchmaking

This system is also in overwatch.

It's scary how many people are taking the side of a greedy corporation that is 100% using ebmm (they all do at this point) over some guy just because he voted different that they did.

This engagement system doesn't happen in rank, but it definitely happens in quick match. From time to time, I would just happen to come across an enemy team full of players below level 5. It was probably a bot match to keep you engaged in the game

I unfortunately agree with Nick's take. I'm not one to side with Nick on many takes from his gaming takes all the way to his political takes, but this is one of them. I'm not a professional gamer by any means, but when I see people like Eskay saying it's not true, they are the ones truly out of touch. You cannot say in good conscious what is good for the community where the 1-10% are pros (to an extent) and apply changes with the majority who are just casuals. Even though Nick is an experienced player given he's been playing comp on COD, Apex, and now Rival, he just now pointed out the obvious, which is his point he made. You can see the system much more obvious in QP than ranked. I'm pretty sure QP and ranked matchmaking is different, but I genuinely think that it is kinda rigged. I'm currently stuck on gold 3-2 on console (mind you that I'm solo queing), and I literally have been doing my absolute best to try, but I mostly get teammates who have no clue what they are doing compared to the other side. I know that it isn't me who is bad (in most situations) because even if I get replaced, the team(s) would still be destroyed. I strongly dislike the system and it's mostly luck than actual skill. People often consider their rank to be how good they are, which I think is bull as it's a team game which means that you can be bad as heck and your team can carry you hard to a certain rank. That's just my observation.

In apex everyone’s called nickmerc a bot. He did look bad but he still solo queued to pred. Which most players havnt done. He even actually killed people in pro league. I don’t know how he continuously looks botted at every game he plays but actually does good but glad to see it’s transferred over. He is probably the only controller player though and the aim assist sucks on mr.

me and my gf's brother literally duod all the way to gm and would go on like 10+ game win streaks through low elo, bro tbh this games matchmaking is not NEARLY as horrible as shit like cod. idk this game doesnt really feel like i go on particularly nasty lose or win streaks (unless obviously me and him are climbing like we did at the start of season) but once were in that elo it still doesnt feel like theres really any eomm or anything. ive literally bought like 1 skin and i still play the game even if i lose 2 or 3 in a row or whatever. the game is just genuinely good and fun and the matchmaking more so if anything just feels a bit random at times

I never really followed Nickmercs, buut there is SOME truths to this claim. Unless you hardcarry there are games that you are expected to lose in rivals, same with overwatch2. Its called losers queue. Same system really. Except ow2 is more one sided. New accs adjust mmr tooo aggressively and if you play great from beginning you can climb to one or two rank higher then ur main acc. I didn't make a smurf for rivals, as I am already gm1. On my experience Diamond was the hardest rank and gm was the easiest.

Engagement based is 100% real

Conformation bias is a hell of a drug. People have been whining about "forced 5050" since the dawn of time, its just how hero shooters go, you can be the best player ever, and you'll still lose because its a TEAM game, and one player playing like ass will fuck it up. Its all cope. As for the "forced 5050" its due to mmr, you are playing against players your skill level, which will just naturally make you win and lose 50ish% of the time.

You can't be mad or take seriously a grown up man, who's playing with a controller.

The thing with Nick Mercs is that he has had a controversial past. Even if he has a good take, people will still hate on him. I do agree that matchmaking in that game is rigged. There are games where I dropped an insane number of kills but still lost. At the end of the day, there are games you just can’t win no matter how much work you put in. That’s how a lot of team-based FPS games are. It's all about rewarding you in some games, and then the next few games are hell, even if you went crazy.

Nick is the biggest grifter in gaming. Bro will throw his entire community under the bus for money.

As much as I don't even watch Nickmercs. From personal experiences, I don't feel it, climbing on solo queues. But there definitely feels like there is EOMM similar to Apex when going on 3/4 stacks.
