Will copper coated pellets keep your barrel cleaner?
@libra76246 сағат бұрын
Yes and unlike center-fire rifles copper in airguns doesn't build up but even in center-fire guns soft lead builds up more then copper, pellets only have a thin layer of copper as do your 22 lr so just enough to keep it cleaner longer and no powder residues in airguns so cleaner for shure

With this combat grip one cannot operate a weapon light by left hand. Also the surface contact is more difficult to achieve because the right thumb is in the way. I would just adjust my hold when shooting single hand.
@libra76249 күн бұрын
you dont need a light, even at night every where you go has ambient light, if you cant see him then he cant see you, very rare you need a light and never identify someone with a weapon mounted light unless attack is in progress only, one hand on gun and flash light is better, you can move light independent of pistol so they dont track your location shooting at light, pointing a gun with light at someone who isnt a threat will get you agravated assault including police who do this all the time, you never point weapon mounted light at some one when no attack is in progress, thats why old school holding light with other hand is better since barrel is seperate from it and you dont need 2 hands on gun in the context of a private citizen defense close quaters incident, military and law enforcement is not even close to private citizens incidences that last less the 6 seconds under 10 yards, you dont need a weapon mounted light just take cover and for home you need a flash light in hand not weapon mounted light, those are for when a person is a obvious threat and almost all home invasions are won not even having a charging threat but a running away threat, you should know your oun home layout so you dont need a attached weapon mounted light or any optic, you should have night lights and ambient light you have in urban neighborhoods

Really good advice! I didn't think of using the pistol as a blunt "hammer". I carry a SAA for OC/CC and think it's a viable tool in the right hands. I do agree with carrying a knife and pepper spray as well as your pistol. I found that the speed strips are a pain when trying to reload. I want to see if I can find a decent nylon belt cartridge carrier. I think using those would make reloading easier than speed strips.

i like to develop a plan or strategy even with guns we normally dont use for defense, a big unloaded gun especially revolvers can make a good club or hammer weapon if empty, even high capacity guys need to consider that if a jam or something andthen after using itas a club getting otthat knife being you may not get to back up gun, a little front fixed blade is very fast like a 3 inch, the reason for 3 inch is if you went for gun you could toss the knife where as a big bowie knife you leave a big knife for attacker to get ahold of or you would have to toss it far enough to get rid ofit if you transitioned to gun, i look at the 3 ich khif to buy me some time for those close quarters attacks where you may not be able toget to gun and you need to make space so that you have distance to draw, stuff like craig douglas close quarters combat things you can do with a quick draw knife
@libra7624Ай бұрын
for a knife stealth and tactics, stealth is a black belt and black fixed blade knife not seen well by the public because color blends in and tactics is a fast way to get knife out, think of it as quick draw knife appendix and easy access for speed

great gun but it makes you work for it by loading slow and careful and a quick bore snake down barrel and a drop of oil every few hundred rounds, these guns can over heat so if say like a mag dump or something give her a break and have a sip of coffee or check phone for messages, these are light wich is a great carry advantage at the expense of a thin barrel that needs a break cooling down, many forget 22 lr powder is dirty unlike 380, 9 mm and such because costs are kept down the chamber wall get dirty and need a swab or bore snake in the chamber to allow good ejection, if you accasionally carry this its easy to walk around town having 100 rounds or more not weighing you down or showing through clothes, essentially you like a one man army with lots of firepower even though a 22 lr and wont run out of ammo, once you get the CCI 40 grain maxi mags and gun is clean and lubed before carry it should be able to defend you as well, espeicially if you do run and gun drills with speed and accurcy wich comes easy being you have no recoil, a success for 22 lr you can read about is the barreta 71 and how 22 lr was used by IDF to take out dozens of guys at close quarters with AK 47"s proving that training with a 22 lr a AK 47 and even someone with a AR 15 can be overwhelmed by a 22 lr, so its not the nessesarily the caliber but how you use your caliber for speed and accuracy and knowing your gun like its a part of your body, gun defense is a form of martial arts, the little guy 22 lr doesnt necessarily lose as we assume, 'its not the size of the dog in the fight but the fight in th dog"

There's only one proper way to grip a pistol with 2 hands in my opinion. Left thumb over right for the right hand shooter. The thumbs up techniques are bad because they are a liability. No one wants a gun that works 98 percent. Why use a grip that takes a 100 percent gun down to 98. Thumbs can jam revolvers put drag on a slide jamming it or engage slide lock at inconvenient times.
@libra76243 ай бұрын
competition's shooters grip high right thumb over left high thumb has caused officers guns to malfunction in real situations, on the range may seem ok but that grip is weak and 4 problems i mention and no problems left thumb over right except mag catch on some guns may need a slight modified grip
