This was the only part of the overall MSQ that i enjoyed. Im not sure why i loved the whole cooking thing but i just enjoyed it, also the story of how peace was made, the beauty of the second half of the zone. About the only thing i didnt like was the power growth of Wuk Lamat, from barely bunging his sword to out right kicking his ass in less then a week (but i loved beating his ass ... for the TACOS!!!). BTW Option 3 is best :p. As always thank you for sharing your adventures with us and cant wait to experience more of it.

Mana i am with you on the choice of characters that Dawntrail had. G'raha and Krile should have been the only ones who made the trip, the rest should have stayed home. I was hoping that Valigarmanda would have been around longer then just being killed off so quick. Next time put PJ's on instead of jumping into bed fully dressed. You have come around faster then i did for the story. Enjoying your journey and cant wait for more.

I remember thinking Zoraal Ja would have been a more interesting cooking partner than Koana too but I guess they wanted to keep building up to Koana's decision in the latter half of the zone. Kind of a shame because as much as I liked Dawntrail overall, Zoraal Ja really did need a bit more fleshing out in the early game.

I agree it would have been cool to see some of the things you suggested like a fully animated cooking montage or pairing with ZJ for more insight into him, this was overall a really good chunk of story. Every voiced cutscene with Koana has been great. Exactly the kind of mentoring of the promises by our existing cast that I was hoping to see from this story. Rewatching this after finishing the MSQ, the entire echo flashback in the cinderfield feels like a setup for the future that never got paid off. This is multiple times now that GJJ’s motivation for uniting Tural was said to be to defend against Eorzean invasion, and now we hear exactly how the synergy between different groups within Tural helped them in combat. Surely planting these seeds in part 1 of the expansion is because later, we will actually fight off the forewarned invasion of the unimaginably more advanced civilization as forewarned using these tactics that combine the strengths of these different cultures, right? Not through some totally different method that doesn’t tie into the themes of the msq at all?

I guess I'm okay with Alisaie being a healer even though it seems weird because we've seen her do a bunch of cutscene healing in the past. There's even an optional line in Endwalker where you can compliment her healing skills. I do think you're right that they gave Alisaie the job mainly because they wanted to let Krile kick ass for a change though. Could have easily been either of them.

I wasn't a fan of Eulogia's design either. A better final boss would be the Watcher jumping down from the moon and fighting you because he doesn't want to be left out. Like he throws off the robe and he's absolutely ripped underneath or something lol

I really hope the "president" is the reflection of Godbert. I love that it took 5 minutes of conversation and Yaana is better developed than pretty much anyone in the Dawntrail MSQ.

I am not a fan of the way they used the twins in this story. Their reason for tagging along was so flimsy when they didn’t even really need one beyond Tural sounds cool I want to come with. There is a lot of potential for them to contribute to the story or wuk Lamats development but they really do feel like they’re just here to fill out the party roles it’s disappointing. Koana’s talk with da boys was so good I really would have loved to see something similar for our team too.

The "Apollyon" dungeon boss was called Abbadon in FF9. You fight it on Terra when Zidane gets all emo and walks away from his friends. Apollyon is the Greek equivalent of Abbadon which is Hebrew.

Skywatchers (Weather NPCs) are great during MSQ if you want to know when a foul weather is about to ruin your cutscene. XD

Not sure if it is the same reason as yours but I know someone whose irl name is Dawn who can vouch for many of the in game messages being extremely funny as a result of that.

If Mablu isn't the tribe quest NPC I'm going to be annoyed.
