Hey there Quasi! - The cutscenes in this game are so cool and nostalgic for me, as a long time fan of the series. The game still looks really good for being twenty years old! I remember the first major cutscene of seeing the GF's obliteration by this unknown and otherworldly alien threat scared me a bit as a kid, but also made me so curious to learn more and discover what happened on this planet. - At around the 31:00 minute mark, you mentioned the lock-on being weird when you moved the analog stick. This is due to the lock-on free-aim function being set to default. This function does as it says: it lets you still freely move the aiming reticule when you're locked-on to an enemy. You can turn this off on the settings if you so desire. This way, you will always stay locked-on even if you move the analog stick. - 32:15 Delicious gummies? You mean the X-Parasites? 🤣 Hilarious. - The small floating ammo and health pickups do not count towards Logbook progress in this game like they did in the first. Interestingly, the first game, due to it having so many different versions, i.e., American, Japanese, PAL, Trilogy, Remastered, etc., a lot of the crucial scans, especially ones related to Chozo Lore or Pirate Data, were heavily moved around in-game, swapped with different text entirely, or removed from the game completely. This also includes some of the health and ammo pickups too, as new iterations or types were added in subsequent versions, requiring additional scans for Logbook completion. - Oof, I do hope the game emulator cooperates and doesn't make you use the save states too often due to crashes so that it doesn't take away from the experience for you or something. Either way, do what works so you don't lose footage or progress though, 'cause that's definitely the worst! - 46:53 Everyone always misses this scan due to how fast those creatures fly. You'll have more opportunities to scan them later. Thanks for the episode!

Super excited to watch you play this! I hope it all goes well seeing as how you had to emulate the game. It's a shame we didn't get a Prime 2 Remastered for Switch by now, but I digress. In any event, I'll comment on each video for this series anything that seems pertinent while simultaneously remaining spoiler-free. - You eventually realized, but yeah, when scanning, always remember that you need to press the A button or an equivalent on your controller to have the bottom text window progress forward to read the dialogue for the aforementioned scan, haha. Additionally, this text window is usually truncated for Logbook scans, whereas the Logbook entry itself will have slightly more information on the given scanned object, so it's always a good idea to just read all the lore from the Logbook. - Dark Samus is not on the official cover box art for Echoes, though there may be fan made renditions of such. - Samus does lose her Morph Ball in the original game during her classic "tripping down a well" moment. In fact, you lose practically all of the same items and abilities in this game as the first, minus the Boost Ball, Power Bomb, and Space Jump, as those are all abilities you acquire in the first game and don't have them by default. A couple things of note: In this game onwards, the log you get from the scan visor is an abreviated logbook entry, and the entry itself will have a little bit of extra text. Also Prime Trilogy has a setting enabled by default called lock on free aim which you may want to disable; it's supposed to be so you can still move your reticle with the wiimote while locked on but I've never really found it helpful.

Nine Sols is an excellent example of how story improves a game. All the bosses have their own purpose and personalities. They're not just Electric Man guarding the electric stage, etc.
