Saw this play once and it was amazing! This scene in particular I couldn’t believe how well it turned out! There’s so much going on all over the place and yet it all fits together perfectly and flows

It feels like they are both being very contradicting to each other. Maureen, is asking her to except her for who she is and know that she is always going to be hers no matter what. Maureen herself has a very flirtatious kind of personality. That’s not necessarily something she can control or should for that matter. It’s who she is. And Joanne, You can tell not only is she wanting a very monogamous relationship. But she is also showing that she has deeper insecurities than what she’s willing to say. By claiming that she wants Maureen to change and be something that she isn’t to make her feel more secure and feel better…. It just rubs me the wrong way. But then on the opposite side I think Maureen is being very insensitive to Joannes insecurities. Yes she is saying you are the one I choose you are the one I want. She’s getting up on the table proclaiming so! But then she goes and gives Joanne and ultimatum. Saying take me or leave me. Both of them are having a lot of trouble expressing how they feel and not excepting the others answer as they should. Very unhealthy to say the least

That’s a cop out. She’s choosing to flirt with people, that’s not just who she is, it’s who she’s choosing to be. Monogamy is monogamy. You dedicate yourself to that person, Maureen is literally flirting with someone else at their engagement party.

I have been to 7 plays and one in Stamford Ct back in the day and still love this musical...way to go Koende88 thank you for posting this timeless musical.
