In the first public showing of RENT the musical, the day after Johnathan Larson passed, all the actors decided to do a table read in his honor. However apparently during La Vie Boheme, the actors playing Angel and Mimi couldn't help themselves and started getting up on the table and dancing during their number, and they finished the song. During the intermission, the cast decided to perform the musical as normal, with dancing, and the rest is history.

This movie was on TV randomly one day one weekend while I was home from Job Corps, specifically right at this scene. I had no context, no understanding or previous awareness of this existence (in exception of the occasional A Capella rendition of Seasons of Love I heard on the radio from a college station I got only at my vacation home) and I watched with absolute fascination, of this number, how everyone moved, what everyone was saying (even though it was at such a pace I wasn't able to keep up) and just loved every moment of it. It changed my life. I had never wanted to live any other way than these people.

Play "MUCHO MASTERBATION"" and imagine a 4 yr old asking a question like this in PUBLIC!!!!!! OMG!!!! People would look at me like "WTF?!!!" and I'd have to say OH GOD!!!! NO! NO!! NO!!!
