carbon fiber one can be dangerous because of thin carbon fibers on the surface. I think you should add a thin layer of epoxy on it.
@peteelab7 күн бұрын
when you shift a gear, the fibers will stick to your hand?
@reyalPRON7 күн бұрын
when working with cf always wear protective gear. you dont want to know why know... trust me on this.. gloves for handling unpolished, full facemask for cutting/filing/sanding/similar. used matte cc would compliment the cf better ;)

thanks that you care about me mate 😀 I used just a facemask but I will get better next time!

I need to do this to fix my glasses
@peteelab28 күн бұрын
If its thermoplastic You can fix it!
@classydays4328 күн бұрын
Glasses won't work because they're made of a cellulose type plastic. Anything above its melting point just turns it in to a gas. Glasses plastic is made such that it both is not porous and likely to become a biohazard, and that any repairs like this aren't possible as you won't get the same nonporosity from melted plastic.

I just fixed my car's bumper a few days ago. The guy used something like a soldering iron. That was definitely melting it. On what principle does this tool work? Is the plastic melted or what?
@peteelab28 күн бұрын
Ultrasonic vibrations are transfered to the plastic from welding head, that cause friction and heat so the plastic melt in every friction under welding head
@peteelab28 күн бұрын
Great is that you cause friction in the crack and the plastic can heat and melt directly in crack without reaching it welding head, which is cold
@محمدداودشاہ28 күн бұрын
@@peteelab That's actually genius, cause with other techniques the crack is held together by the overlapping/bonding of the melted plastic on sides while the actual inner contacting surface of the cracks are not bonded. With this method as your described it the actual contacting surface of the crack would be bonded. Great 🙏🏻
@Heppypengu28 күн бұрын
Woah cool. Is this better than spot melting the mesh into the plastic?
@peteelab28 күн бұрын
sure, you are not breathing the smoke of burning plastic
@peteelab28 күн бұрын
and you are able to weld the plastic deeper into the crack without reaching there with the welding head
@CuriousDils28 күн бұрын
That’s cool never seen that before. Seems sturdy and holding on. Could you sand the spot where you welded to clean it up and paint it.?
