You appear to have a slightly different carburetor. I'm in USA with a 2006 S model. The first wire you unplugged is either non existent or in a different place on my carb. In any case this was still very helpful so thank you!

Thank you I bought a 2015 that had all the mods done to it we're talking about carburetor kits air box and pipe this bike does not excite me at all being that I am a two-stroke Rider I was thinking that it would wake my charm up but it does but it doesn't I would like to sell mine change over to something that will run I know they're Bulletproof but they don't get my attention

Thank you! I've been looking for a way to easily swap between S and SM during different seasons.What about the gear on the rear wheel? My guess is that you want a longer gear ratio for a SM. Perhaps, this is just a chain adjustment?

Take the fuel line off and vac line then loosen the hose clamps for the boot and turn the carb . Never took mine out did it in about an hour
@EarthWalkerOne Жыл бұрын
If anyone's reading this: There's no need to take the tank off, or any of the side panels. Undo the throttle cable, unplug the TPS. disconnect fuel line, and take the clamps off the rubber gasket/boot. then take something like handle of a large wrench(spanner) as a prybar between the frame and the rear boot. Then you just wiggle the carb out. Takes about 3-5min. Use some spit on the inside of the boot to lube it going back on.

Nice and concise. I have fuel draining out of the black hose, assuming it's a float or needle drama. Thanks for the tips (on pulling the rear airbox hose clear out of the way ) very helpful.

I did the opposite of this video and added a bunch of crap to make my bike heavier. I have tusk panniers a tank bag, extra stuff in the stock bag. Front fender bag. Heavy duty tubes lol... I do have the pillion pegs removed and lithium battery though 😅

This is a great video man. It shows exactly what i wanted and you didnt make it sound complicated at all. It was great how you showed taking the carb out of the bike, as most other videos i have seen skip that part.
@coastalcleaningandmaintena28842 жыл бұрын
Good addition for weight loss is that sealed lead acid dumbbell battery. The lithiums are unbelievable. Way more cold cranking amps at 120 which is I beleive 3x as much. And it weighs less than 1lb which is significant high up on the chassis. At around 100 Canadian pesos it's a unbeatable upgrade. Great vid tho and to the haters you mentioned. Don't mention it again there will always b haters no matter what vid u post. Just realize that and don't give a damn. Usually just basement dwelling losers anyway that don't say shit in real life. Cheers pretty work

Is it worth it though? Probably not IMO. I would be better suited just to lose 11 lbs off my body tbh

Thanks for the informative video! I'm thinking about getting a DRZ as I'm not sure I can part with nearly 20k (here in Australia) for a KTM 690! Have you dyno'd your bike to see what hp and torque you are getting at the wheel?
@davsco1002 жыл бұрын
also have to remove the rearmost muffler bolt from the subframe so that you can move the subframe back...
@davsco1002 жыл бұрын
if you remove the top subframe bolt, and loosen the lower subframe nuts, (with the bike on a stand or jack) you can push the subframe back and that gives you more room for the carb to back out of the front and back boots.
