The level of concentration on the face of Danny Carey shows how complex his rhythms are.

You young man have selected a video of a master at his craft. The first section is merely warming up. He gets serious near the end. Hint when the overhead white lights begin to flash he gets serious, big time. You'll see & hear what I mean in a bit! I am so impressed by his skill level. He is a master!!! He does some neat accents along the way!! I contend that Danny is a one man drum line! We'll see what you think. I think the best part is coming up! Watch for the flashing.... He did all of that, STOPPED, and fixed his hair!!!

I heard an interview with Tomas and he said it too him six months of practicing to get that song down comfortably.

Billy Cobham plays open handed, and he's more of a jazz drummer (and more).

Mike Portnoy said about the drums of this song... that the metrics aren't of a song... is a mathematical equation

This is probably the third time watching you react. Good stuff! I can tell you that in a recent interview Danny told Rick Beato that he has NEVER played to a click. Just throwing that out there!

Chris turner is beyond insane. You can tell that he has a great mind and has complete control, and he's able to combine the two. He isn't "hall of fame", he's Legendary.

It's one thing to critique. Try playing the song like Danny. Dare you. Watch Mike Portnoy's cover. Took 5+ hours. Would love to see Danny & Mike play together.

Be impressive and play TOOL Pneuma he sat on this song and could only do so much with the music provided! Search TOOL Pneuma Vic Firth drum cam! Good luck! Mike Portnoy took 5 hours to "learn" it! His final pass was about 85% correct

The frank zappa of metal is incredibly spot on because zappa was extremely percussion based a lot of the time he messed around with the tempo and drums of a song first

In my opinion John is the best drummer in metal. He is so creative and unique, not to mention his insane technique and stamina. He an absolute legend.
