There are tons of different String, Woodwind, Brass, Percussion, and Keyboard instruments out there, but most symphony orchestras and philharmonic orchestras across the globe consist of the following instruments: String Section: Violins, Violas, Cellos, Double Basses, and Harps. Woodwind Section: Piccolos, Flutes, Oboes, English Horns, Clarinets, Bass Clarinets, Bassoons, and Contrabassoons. Brass Section: Trumpets, French Horns, Trombones, Bass Trombones, Euphoniums, and Tubas. Percussion Section: Snare Drums, Bass Drums, Cymbals, Tambourines, Triangles, Drum Kits, Whips, Castanets, Gongs, Timpanis, Tubular Bells, Xylophones, Glockenspiels, Vibraphones, and Marimbas. Yeah, as has been said, you're missing the greatest piece, the Rohan theme. When discussing the idea of leitmotifs this one is the stand out, a pivotal scene where the lament of Rohan (and the fading of Men's glory) becomes reinvigorated with the "hope" theme (heard when Gandalf sees the moth atop Orthanc), disproving Elrond's belief that there is no strength left in Men. Great video otherwise.

Williams was as on fire for this as he was with the leitmotifs of Star Wars. It’s an endless stream of inventiveness. Like many of his main themes, Hedwig’s Theme is comprised of sections so iconic each could be its own. Star Wars, ET, Raiders, and Superman each have this. But my favorite motif from HP is Harry’s Wondrous World. It hits the warmth of his friendships with Ron and Hermione perfectly. It’s the home you feel when you’re at what should be a cold, dark castle. The music gives it heart and warmth.

We all have influences. John Williams has an incredible style and his ability to create memorable melodies is unique. I can't remember a single thing Hans Zimmer composed.

Jaws is a phrygian mode (of E), 9th Symphony “From the New World” isn’t (since it’s not in B minor). Not to mention it’s more contrabass than full string section. The repeating two notes is something in common tho.

Howard Shore's use of Leitmotifs for the LOTR is a masterclass all on it's own. He even goes a step further by not just giving character themes, but places, and ideas too. There's a whole motif just for the corruption of the ring which is different than the ring's leitmotif, and one for missing or longing for the shire which is different than the shire leitmotif. John Powell also does a spectacular job with the How to Train Your Dragon trilogy.

The Ventures included "The Villain Theme" in their composition "Scrooge" which is a track on their 1965 "The Ventures Christmas Album".

Williams had to discard his themes for HP3 (which he still composed) already, requested by the new director Alfonso Cuarón. Williams was not discarded but he announced one year in advance that he is not able to continue due to other projects. This was also almost the case with HP2, he was very very busy in that time. But back then, William Ross adapted HP1 to HP2 with JWs instructions and Williams himself only composed the new material (lockhart, fawkes, cos, dobby, myrtle, spiders,…) However, with also a new director for HP4 again, now there also was a new composer with Patrick Doyle. And then another director and two other composers. I interviewed Nick Hooper (music HP5 and 6) a month ago for my bachelor thesis, and he stated that he tried to compose in williams style but it didnt work. the decision for new leitmotifs: „David [Yates, the director] wasnt keen to do that. I think he wanted his own stamp.“
