So sorry to see what happened to your Boss in the later videos Sean but this content is still so helpful. Thanks for making them. I heard you mention when you had your transmission rebuilt that you put the stock tune back in the car. I understand that’s a good idea incase the dealer performs an upgrade to your ECU. When going to a stock tune do you have to take the car back to the tuner before your appointment or does he just reprogram your regular key to use the stock tune? Thanks.

I get lock out now.. 2000 miles later I'm getting lock out now.. 3rd gear once in a while.. The 3rd synchro's kinda suck badly.. It smooths out once it gets warmed up fully. But it's still funny sometimes... I can't believe Ford put these MT82's in our cars.. It's shameful..

I didn't get lock out but I am still low miles though.. I did the Steeda Stock shifter Bracket and the Trans insert.. I have a lot of NVH now.. I am going to pull the trans insert and see if the noise calms down along with the cabin vibration too.. I hope it does.. People are telling me it's the insert that is causing the most NVH and not the Steeda Bracket. I am under 11,000 and the stock shifter wasn't that bad even with the stock bracket.. I can see how over time the rubber gets worse and shifts get more sloppy.. But I am going to pull that trans insert out and see how I like it like that.. I already have syncro II ready to go.. I will be putting fresh syncro II in when I do the next oil change.. Also I noticed that it takes the MT82 a while to warm up.. Like a half Hr. into driving and the trans and sycro's seem to smooth out..

Great video. You are not giving me hope upgrading my front struts. 😂 I am also battling rust on this car and I take really good care of it too. I spray a ton of rust prevention oil under the car and power wash under after each snowstorm. I live in the Northeast by the ocean so I'm always fighting an uphill battle. The sway bar hex-bolt design is terrible on this car where my first removal I stripped the hex of course. The rear bumper on this car rusts really bad btw.

Did you have to swap to an RS master cylinder? Or is the volumetric flow rate pretty much the same as ST calipers?
@SeanMcGuigan
@SeanMcGuigan Жыл бұрын
I was told they are the same master cylinder and booster. Being a 4 piston caliper I don’t believe there is a big volumetric difference. For example on my Boss 302, when going from the 4 piston Brembo to the S550 6 piston I did experience a difference in brake pedal pressure. This is solved by changing the Booster, master cylinder and hard lines from master to ABS module.

Tires are pain in the ass to get balanced, and they cause tread pull. Car wandered like crazy. Also way too easy to flat spot, like literally after 1 day of not driving. Good grip but definitely does not deserve all the hype

So I have a 12 Boss 302 and am debating on installing long tubes, when you had to tune your car they can keep the red key with the lopey idle? And just change what needs to be changed without messing with it?

@@SeanMcGuigan I seen they have the boss h pipe that have the side exhaust for sale now. I might do the headers, no cats, with the quad exhaust set up. When that lope kicks in your car sounds beautiful, best sounding boss on the internet. The quad may make it louder but I can live with that on a weekend warrior car.

very cool tutorial, not 100% but if you've done brakes you really dont need all the uninstall/install details. Ive been to many track days and lots of intense weekend back road cruises, and the stock ST brakes are terrible. They will fade very quickly if you're on them for consecutive corners. I have Hawk DTC-60 pads, ss lines, and Motul 600 high temp fluid, and it made a DRASTIC difference on the track. I have a separate set of rotors/pads/wheels/tires for the track vs daily...so I just swap the Hawk stuff off after racing. Im picking up my buddy's Brembo RS calipers for the front with SS lines and some rotors.. you do lose the dust shield but the brake performance increase is well worth it. I'll prob keep the rears as the stock ST set up since i already have good rotors/pads for it.. but once they're shot i'll look into the RS rotor/Mazda bracket like you did here. Cars on its way! Lots of improvements others wont notice until they see how well you perform and wonder 'what all you've done to it' ^_^ I get asked a lot on the cruises with high powered V8's and supercars at the track (ZR1's, GT3/GT2's, etc) what all i have done, and i tell them its a stock turbo and stock motor with just FBO and E30...they cant believe it. These cars really do very well on a track with a good driver, and braking/cooling are your biggest enemies. Get yourself a quality oil cooler too..temps get real high on the track.

Crazy how ignorant people can drive these kinds of cars. First of all, it’s a Roadrunner, not a Coyote. Second of all, the MT82 is not that bad of a transmission. I made 700whp through a stock MT82 and never had issues. Upgrade to a good clutch and put in some good fluid, and it fixes like 95% of the issues. But what would a guy with a NA Boss that probably hasn’t even hit 100mph know about that…
