The “green” plate (green only for illustration purposes) should be attached to the ball joint. There’s really nothing to remove to expose this area as the gas strut is attached to the ball joint. Hope that answers your question.

I did not think to seal the parts as I assumed the entire area was in the inside/dry area of the car. Living in the desert biased my concerns, no doubt. In retrospect, if I had such forethought, I might have injected the area with a silicone sealant before tightening the ball joints down. Sorry.

I just checked astonmartinbits.com and they only list the parts I mentioned in the video. I’m not familiar with the roadster setup. Sorry.

As far as I know, that info hasn't been released yet. I imagine that Aston Martin will address this rather well known problem in the new model. If not, opt for thinner racing seats to buy back some leg room. 😉
