Growing veg with Chris not Emilee

Just a quick heads up. It's illegal to bring seeds into the uk unless through the proper channels with a licence to do so. The reason is disease transmission into uk agriculture and horticulture. Seed for import into the uk need to pass much stricter inspection. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
@boatbuilder78116 күн бұрын
Why did you bring those two with you? Seriously try the Burpee catalog, large supplier with advice what crops grow better where? What you get in Florida is for that climate, so be careful.

Purple beans are awesome and easy to find, keep in mind they turn green when cooked. Pronunciation is with an H so halo peno 😅. Some great choices 👍🙏

Follow so many KZbin gardeners in the UK, you are first one to talk about rotation, the brassica family get club root, which means you can't grow that family for many years in the same spot, its the one reason, I never compost brassica roots. Garden in New Zealand, most of the rest of the problems are short term and sorted by crop rotation.

Are those blackcurrants? Or blackberries.Blackcurrants are good for storing in winter.Can them in a mason jar and sweeten with honey as fruit is going to be very expensive and hard to get as things worsen.Easy to grow in our cloudy climate.

Snow is a good insulation, if you are having hard frosts after snow!!!

Also, I would suggest minimizing the amount of wood frames you use in your beds. They tend to attract slugs.

Chris, don't POKE the greenhouse plastic with the end of the handle. Use the soft(er) side which is also broader.
@GrowingVeg29 күн бұрын
Thanks, I did realise after the first couple I decided to use my hand to push it off 😂!
@timdench2583Ай бұрын
Chris, when clearing snow off your greenhouse I would recommend that you use the flat end of a broom I.e. the broom head. This will spread the weight across the area you are dealing with and will avoid you poking the pointy end of the rake/broom through the polyurethane which as it’s cold will be more susceptible to being poked through. Hope this makes sense.

Who needs GOLF when you have a GARDEN!
@GrowingVegАй бұрын
Exactly my thinking 😂
@helenstewart2085Ай бұрын
Need to ask, now big are the plots, my area in a New Zealand farm garden is big enough to have 10 beds 1.2 metres by up to 6 metres long. Paths are not that wide, but the centre one is wide enough for a ride on to access a orchard where there is 4 rows of trees, 5 trees per row, but the ground slopes away very quickly.

By using old metal bunk beds, and two 2x2 inch (50mm x50mm), my bean frame has never fallen down, due to our wind zone, everything has to be put away, at the end of the day, or even during the day!!!

New subscriber block watching, my new/old dog took a year or so to learn to not to sit on my beds and not to disappear when my back is turned. Being put away when the other dog is allowed to wander around the garden.
