I have heard that the British Rifle Regiments that were so effective against Napoleon, were inspired by the Natives in the French and Indian wars, and the American Riflemen that fought in the Revolution. That might have been made up though, think I got from Bernard Cornwell’s Sharpe series. Hadn’t heard of the Rifle Corps before though.

OH $hit ! I'm a 5 time US NRA National Champion! 3 in LR and 2 in XTC . And the most notable performance I'll never forget is winning the national NAVY CUP trophy . And the reason its so important is I won it with the LOWEST WINING score on the trophy ! Well hey , it was gusting at 23 MPH and getting a 183 out of 200 was good enough to win !
