I wish auto mechanics pay more attention to details. You did a great job on detailing how it’s properly done. Thanks for your service.

Hey, fellow Canadian. I truly appreciate you as someone who owns a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan 3.3L. 😊I bought it for $1,900 three years ago and finally it's starting to show signs of issues. I think one of my spark plugs has gone bad. So glad that spark plugs can be purchased for so cheap, because I use this van to make money; as I am an UberEats, DoorDash & SkipTheDishes driver. I was devastated when my van started to act very odd with very low RPM when put into drive or reverse, sometimes even stalling out the engine the RPMs go so low. Also knocking randomly when driving, and low power output. I'll also be checking out my MAP sensor, but hope I can just clean it and put it back in without needing replacing. My engine looks just as dirty as yours does, lol. Thanks again for this great video! 🙏

Just goofed up and drained the CVT fluid instead of the oil. Just wondering are able to do this without a jack and stands? I know itd make it way easier but i dont have 4 stands to lift it up! Thanks for your time!

that die trick is pretty sweet. I use a dremel or drill with a wire brush to clean the threads before applying penetrant myself, it really does make it so much easier when dismantling crusty old bits. this is one of the easier cars to do drop links on. I did these on our 09 Forester without even having to jack the car up, and I weigh around 300lbs so guessing probably just about anyone could get in there. always a good idea to do the bushings as well when replacing drop links. those are only rubber tasked with corralling metal and get looser over time, and often look less worn than they really are. also easily accessible on this car without having to jack it up. the worst are those drop links with round collars. I hate those so, so much. whose brilliant idea was that anyways?? allen key on the end is useless, can't withstand any torque. invites the wrath of the angle grinder.

I never conceived of these rotary ratchets before (never occurred to me that there is such a thing). Added them to my amazon wish list, waiting for warehouse deal on them (because I'm a brokie). Good video also.

Just did a Water pump and tensioner on 2016 Rav4. Not to bad, hardest part was the belt lmfao.. my tip is is the same as yours. Get the belt on the edge of the Alt pulley and walk it on by spinning the crank.

Another example of car manufacturers making this shit to break on purpose so you can fill their pockets with money. Part costs them five dollars and the eighty dollars is profit. Great videos Jimmy!

This guy's channel is underrated I only watched this video so far and he doesn't sugar coat anything and he's funny this is exactly how a day goes working on cars I love it also he's very knowledgeable I watched this video just to see how the starter comes out since I never did one on my caravan.. that had 250,000 miles on it starter is original ...These Vans run forever 3.3 and 3.8... they are amazing vehicles and if taken care of quite often hit 500K..

this really is helpful, thanks man. I just ordered the oil cooler gasket thingy, that is probably where I am getting one of my leaks in addition to the crank seal thing. I also am going to replace the timing chain cover with an aftermarket that comes with a gasket as I hear the OEM spongy thing is faulty and want to avoid using honda bond on it.

😂 Comedy. I one upped you Jimmy. Originally I was changing my water pump, and that went sideways, so I also had to pull my timing chain cover because 4 of the 5 heads broke off of the bolts for the water pump and there is no room to work to tap them, so I luckily had an extra motor and pulled the cover off it and switched them and installed the pump on it, since I had to pull the pan to do that I ended up finding this video. Because after doing a search yours was the most user friendly and informative. The comedy helped keep me from losing my shit. There is no video's anywhere for pulling a timing chain cover while in the vehicle, so I was on my own on that ! What a shit show that turned out to be. I managed to remove everything off of the cover, alternator, power steering pump, a/c pump, and put it back together without undoing any lines. And I liked and Subscribed for you!!!

you're not "swapping out" the fluid by doing a drain and fill. you're replacing about a third of the old fluid with new fluid

I got some, I assume, Chinese shocks which are the self levelling style. The standard shocks on mine are like this and the idea is when you hook a trailer up they will stop the rear end sagging. They have a large bulge in the housing just above the bushing, yours didn't look like this type though. The bushing size and mount on my new ones look exactly the same as the Monroe version... Interesting that the aftermarket seems to be cutting corners in this area.
