Like the final boss in life. At least thats what this battle felt like to me.

I always see people talking about how difficult he was to beat. The first time I managed to even come face to face with him, I got him down to that last bit of health (without much struggle) that triggers the cut scene of him force draining his way back to full health. I was clean out of med packs and stimulants, had no means of destroying the imprisoned jedi and had very poorly distributed feats and stats. Because of that, it was absolutely impossible for me to defeat him, I did the exact opposite of what’s needed to defeat him. In hindsight, as a final boss, he’s unbelievably easy to defeat. And even now, I can let him drain the life from all of the fallen jedi and a still beat him with relative ease. Fighting through the star forge to get to him is what the real challenge is.

For many people, defeating Malak seems very difficult, but having beat him so many times with ease, here are a few tips and tricks: - Immediately after talking with Malak, go to the menu screen and equip the Verpine shield and all three of the Hyper Adrenal stimulants (Strength, Alacrity and Stamina). You want to have these equipped at all times, so be sure to stock up on them beforehand. - Similairly, if you get hit, you can go to the menu item screen and use a Life Support Pack to heal instead of using one in combat. - Make sure to equip the Electrical Capacitance Shield (from Kashyyyk) and either the Retinal Combat Implant (if you have the Implant Level 2 feat) or the Bothan Sensory Visor. The former will provide some protection against Force Lightning and the latter two will negate Malak's critical hits. - Master Speed and the Master Toughness feat are an absolute must in KOTOR. For the second phase: - It really helps if you have either the Drain Life or at least Disable Droid. You can destroy the Jedi pods around the area quickly. If not, repeat the above points and never forget to heal when needed.

I appreciate how Revan apologizes for leading Alek to the Dark Side, but he does make sure to say he was responsible for his own fate.

Love how she tries to appeal to his love for her when part of the punishment was stripping his emotions from him, making him into a cold, bitter specter of revenge. They did this to themselves. It would have been more merciful to kill him, but they just had to choose to let the cruel hand of time kill him and it came back to haunt them.

This game just turned garbage in these last moments with the infinite Spam spawning Really ruins the game that you sit here and make your whole play through never having to heal never using any of these resources and now because of the final infinite spawns your force to just exhaust a whole play through's worth of resources because the game just spawns 5 on 1 Faster than you can even fight the people there's another 5 guys around the corner but time you leave and killed one person it's not even good writing

Don't forget that before becoming Darth Malak, Alek was a Jedi hero of the Republic, having served as general in the Mandalorian Wars, alongside Revan and Meetra Surik. His greatest achievement was the utter defeat of clan Fett at the hands of his Jedi crusaders. He beat them so badly that their leader - the feared Cassus Fett - fled from battle never to be seen again. It's soul crushing to see how the dark side twisted him into a war criminal.

I had the Xbox version of the game, and I could never figure out how to beat Malak "legitimately". I always ran away and just used Saber Throw to do him in, to this day, even after getting the PC version I still can't figure out how to beat Malak legitimately without getting curb stomped.

LOL. Malak was NEVER stronger than Revan. Revan would always wipe the floor with him in a one on one up close and personal. All Malak does is blow his load from a bridge countless miles away.

Jon Irenicus is the only villain I legit weep for. In the beginning, I thought he was nigh unstoppable, I thought of him as a man who sought only power and was on a quest for that power. The dryads I met did make me think that he was trying to use that power to restore his love so he could be with her again. But after hearing the truth, it was hard not to cry for him. Death would have been a mercy. But they gave him a fate worse than death, they stripped him of his being, and stripped him of the good inside him that was left. Most would have killed themselves if something like that was done to them. It's like forcing someone to be something else, to rip who they were from them, and be plagued by the memory of who they were knowing they can never be that person again. Like turning Minsc into a chaotic evil person, but him remembering what it was like to be good & that he genuinely misses that, but he can never be the hero he was so proud to be. That is what Jon had to live with. I understand his rage and hatred, what was done to him was beyond anything moral. They should have executed him, not stripped him of everything he ever was, even the Nine Hells would be paradise compared to what was done to him. And they expected him to just accept it?? To live out the rest of life as something he isn't? They murdered Joneleth. More than that, they twisted his soul into something worse. No crime could morally and ethically warrant this kind of punishment. The Seldarine created a monster and if Jon killed them, their fate was likely too quick to balance the heinous act they did. They caused that monster to come back & destroy them, which led to even more deaths. They deserved more than what Jon did to them. And its very likely that even after he end them, he still felt nothing from it. Jon Irenicus is a villain with no equal. And a story that could be comparable to the tragic sorrow of Guts' life. "Shattered One" doesnt even begin to describe what they forced upon him. Should have just killed him so that he could have at least remained as who he was in death.

Just finished my first playthrough as a Ligh Side Scoundrel/Consular (for that sweet sweet persuasion, gotta save Bastila) and this fight was EPIC. I only had basic critical strike and my character wasn't very strong with a lightsaber, but I had maxed out force speed, destroy droid, stasis field, lightsaber throw and force valour. Once I heard the music in the chamber before the dialogue I knew this was it and activated my Mandalorian shields and pumped myself with adrenaline like an addict. Once I realized I could destroy the Jedi stasis I used the force to destroy them, and finally, both combining grenades, force powers and lightsaber combat with stat-boosting I took him down. It was the most epic boss fight I have ever fought in any game, and I'm glad I didn't invest a lot into lightsaber combat: it would have made the whole ordeal easier, but I loved the challenge and how I was forced to use several elements of the game.

Revan: This is the way of the Dark Side, Malak. All things end in death. The power of the Light will always be stronger than the Dark Side. Malak: Still... still spouting the wisdom of the Jedi, I see. Maybe there is more truth than I had ever believed. I... I cannot help but wonder Revan, what would have happened had our positions been reversed? What if fate had decreed I would be captured by the Jedi? Could I have returned to the Light, as you did? If you had not led me down the Dark Path in the first place, what destiny would I have found? Revan: I am sorry I started you on this path. But you chose to continue down it. You cannot blame me for that decision. Malak: I suppose... I suppose you speak the truth. I alone must accept responsibility for my fate. I wanted to be Master of the Sith and Ruler of the Galaxy. But that destiny was not mine, Revan. It might have been yours, perhaps... but never mine. And in the end, as the darkness takes me, I am nothing. (Dies)
