It's clear to me that Morgana and Lena were written similarly and both had heroes like Kara and Merlin who tried to help them. Morgana and Lena both were destined to do terrible things. The difference in my opinion was Kara Danvers. Both Merlin and Kara hid who they were, both kept a dual identity from Lena and Morgana which caused both to turn dark. The difference, Kara didn't abandon Lena, she doubted her at times, but never fully abandoned her despite everyone telling her Lena was bad. Merlin listened to the dragon, he abandoned Morgana. Morgana only turned to her sister because everyone she trusted abandoned her. Kara wouldn't let their family abandon Lena, she never truly gave up

There is 1 conversation during 5x13 that never happened but should have and i think the show really missed an opportunity by not having it. In 5x13 Kara needed another perspective so she chose a time frame where Mon El existed and her talking to him about what was going on to get his opinion. They should have had Kara choose a time frame where Lena would have listened and Kara could have told her weekday was happening. Who better to give advice about how to handle Lena than Lena. Imagine that convo, Kara tells Lena what's happening in real life, how they hurt each other. Lena tears in her eyes listens to all the ways she hurt Kara and vice versa looks deep into Kara's eyes and tells her "as long as you keep trying, I'll keep pushing you away" Kara blinks, confused, says "I'll never give up on you Lena, i promised to always be they're and i will". A soft smile comes over Lena as she grasps Kara’s hand, "i could never handle you thinking I'm a lost cause, I'll always try and prove you wrong. I'm not asking you to give up on me, I'm asking you to have faith that I'll always choose your side in the end". Kara looks at her, swallows slowly "so what, in supposed to tell you the truth, that i can't trust you anymore because you are so lost you see Lex as an ally? " Lena gets a smirk "Kara, if i chose Lex, it's because i know beyond any doubt that what I'm doing is wrong and o don't care what he thinks. I'll always care about what you think, It's why i most likely am keeping you away, shame makes me isolate ". Imagine if that conversation took place. It would still fit the show, keep it platonic, but add so many layers to what is happening.

Slasher & Supergirl collab not bad

The entire time Lena was manipulating Kara, Katie made the acting choice to show doubt. Lena hated doing it, every bad choice she made she hated it. Whenever she made Kara smile she felt horrible knowing it was a lie. I always felt like Lena convinced herself she was just venting. I think Lena fully intended on fixing things and thought Kara would be there when she finally calmed down. 5x13 crushed her, actual tears in her eyes when Kara told her she could no longer turn a blind eye and that she would actively pursue stopping Lena. I think Lena doubled down not out of anger, but desperation to prove to Kara she wasn't evil. If she could make her plan succeed, then she could fix things with her head held high and show Kara she never turned bad. Unfortunately Lex showed her that the moment she shook his hand, she went villain.

The show never fully acknowledged it, probably cause they had to cut season 5 short, but what Lena did was so much worse than what Kara did. Lena was able to watch Kara day in and day do everything for her, work tirelessly to fix things, knowing that she was just manipulating her. She was able to intentionally crush Kara and cause pain time and time again without remorse. Then the one time she shows concern she flips out on Kara again the moment Lex says something. Lena never EVER truly apologized for mentally and physically abusing Kara. I think in my head Lena knew that because of what she did, she could never be more than a friend to Kara. The lengths she went to out of anger destroyed any chance of that and I think Lena realized this as Kara expressed her pain. Lena came to 2 realizations during Kara's speech. First she realized that she had been wrong, that Kara had cared about her as much as she did for Kara. She saw the pain in Kara's eyes and realized in that moment that she had succeeded in crushing her and it broke her even more to know that she caused that pain. The second thing Lena realized was that she lost the chance to have everything she had wanted. She lost the chance to have the love of someone who would do anything for her. You could see in Lena's eyes as she nodded her head that she accepted that she destroyed her own chance to be loved unconditionally. I like to think that during season 6 Lena set out to insure that nobody could hurt Kara the way she did. She became her guardian, both physically and emotionally. She never let Kara go down a dark path, she stayed close to her and kept her heart safe. Lena may never be able to be the love Kara deserved, but she would never let Kara get hurt again, I truly feel that way. That's not say that Kara agreed. In my head cannon, once Kara accepted her own feelings for Lena, with Lena's help, Kara would help Lena overcome her fear of hurting Kara again.

This was just amazing 😍I love that when the song says that was the night I nearly lost you, you put the scene in s5 13 because I think that it is the first time Lena realizes that Kara won't be there if she continues in her path and that she is losing her.

Episode 5x13 was when Lena knew she went to far. Up until that episode I think Lena had convinced herself that Kara would be waiting for her whenever she was ready. When Kara told her she viewed her as a villain I think for the first time Lena started to second guess herself. Kara confidentially and clearly told Lena the gloves were off, this was no longer a game, and Kara saw her as the enemy now. Katie had multiple choices on how to display Lena's non verbal reaction, she chose heartbreak and regret. She could have chosen to appear angry, non caring, or even humor, but she didn't. Lena looked so hurt that she had succeeded in pushing Kara away. I think deep down Lena had hoped to fail.

"Protecting people is what I do, you should know this by now"-Kara Danvers to Lena Luthor "Protecting you is what I do, you will know this from now on"-Lena Luthor to Kara Danvers The writers were never able to make Supercorp Canon, though they clearly wanted to. So instead they used double meanings in everything. One of those hints they sent was Andrea Rojas. They made sure we saw Lena had feelings like she did for Kara before. You can't tell me the Andrea thing was am accident by the writers. They used parallels in that entire relationship right as Supercorp was at its largest in popularity. This was to tell us Lena had deep feelings for the same sex before. So as a Behavioral Health Professional I have a breakdown that I think Supercorp fans will appreciate. Lena broke the way she did because the things she was hiding were brought to the surface and not just her denial of who Supergirl was. I'm not saying the show was implying Lena realized she was gay, but they were implying Lena cared for Kara in a way that went beyond friendship. Lena's pain was that she thought Kara didn't care as much as she did. Then Kara did her own speech and Lena realized that Kara was in as much denial as she had been. Season 6 is kind of proof of my theory. Season 6 was primarily Lena helping Kara except herself for who she is. Now this can be taken multiple ways and that was intentionally done by writers who weren't aloud to make them blatantly Canon, so instead they used double meaning on almost everything in season 6. Lena knew before Kara how she felt, that was clear by how different Lena became after she realized how she felt. The rest of the time was her patiently helping Kara come to terms with her own feelings and you can see Kara slowly except these things. Denial can be very very powerful. But if you look, Lena had slowly taken Alex's place in Kara's life and even Alex herself noticed this. You can't tell me Alex would feel okay in letting just a friend take her role in Kara's life. No she felt safe in leaving Kara with Lena cause she saw the connection, the writers made sure we knew Alex knew. All of this was intentionally made apparent to us that Lena had become the most important person in Kara's life and that last scene was Lena telling Kara she excepted herself and all that she is and that if Kara did the same, she would be there for her. Kara taking off the glasses while staring at Lena was a symbol from the writers of Kara excepting herself and an expression of what mattered to her, Lena Luthor. Also when Lena and Kara hugged at the end, Melissa made the acting choice to close her eyes and smile like she was at home in Lena's arms. Watch the her other hugs, she never closed her eyes, this was intentional.

The interactions between Lena and Kara are unmistakable. Went from being 2 people who were highly guarded and self conflicted. Upon their first encounter there's instant chemistry which eventually creates a bond that surpasses friendship and almost all romances I've ever seen. They push each other to become who they truly always were. I believe they edited the kiss scene out of the last episode and then leaked it purposefully. Simple confirmation of what was always so apparent in the under and overtones in all of their interactions with one another. What we saw between Lena and Kara was the deepest connection two people can possibly have. For instance I took notice when Lena spoke of her ex she said they were together for 2 years but it took 5 years to reach that point. On the last episode of 5 seasons/years knowing each other. Their words to each other were shine your light and let yourself be who you are, inspiring one another to open even further. Kara Puts the glasses down and walks intently towards Lena. I'll end in saying they didn't have to make mention of their sexuality what so ever. All the subtlety, body language, true meaning behind the dialogue, embracing one another in the most loving ways possible. In worlds 🌍 filled with such ugliness two people with love for each other like Lena and Kara had is truly beautiful. That's all I got.

Lena never fully abandoned Kara, she wanted to, but couldn't. The moment she realized Lex was working against Kara she ran to her apartment, threw herself at Kara's mercy, and begged to help her. Did she do all of this for the greater good? No. She did it because in that moment Kara's safety mattered more to her than anger, revenge, or ego. The show made it clear that every time Kara was in danger Lena was willing to put everything aside to protect her. When push came to shove she cried as she chose not to send the email to Andrea that would have exposed Kara, this kept Kara safe. She had the chance to escape with Myriad while Kara was fighting in the fortress, she risked her own goals to help protect Kara, once shaikh choosing Kara's safety over her own. She had a panic attack when the Kryptonite cannons almost shot Kara, once again Kara's safety came first. She cried and almost broke when she saw the pain she caused by using Kryptonite on Kara in the fortress. It's clear, Lena would never abandon Kara, she was literally incapable of it.

It was clear that Lena loved Kara. Nobody can convince me she reacted to the betrayal with the rage that she did over a friendship. Her reaction was of someone denying a side of her that she kept hidden and then suddenly to find it was based on a lie caused severe emotional damage. It would take her months to come to the realization that she had been wrong, that it wasn't 1 sided like she thought. Once she realized that Kara had also been in denial, her focus changed. She saw that Kara cared just as much and also had been lying to herself. This is made clear by the fact that season 6 was all about Lena helping Kara except who she is. If we look at the hidden meaning behind nearly all of their conversations in season 6 we can see that by this point, Lena knows who and what she is and is helping Kara except who she is as well. I can safely say that if we look at the context of the words, Lena wants Kara to see they are in love with each other.
