I think my biggest regret from this year was to not drop everything, drain my bank account, and fly to Houston to see this show. Granted I would've had to return right away to see Band Maid the next time, but it totally would've been worth it. Next time!!

It cost me a little over a grand for flight hotel and tickets and vip although I know your flight would be a lot longer. Next time brother I’ll see you there. And I still won’t like band maid lol

I have followed GNR since their reunion and the same exact day I was to see them on 8/8/17 was the same day Glen Campbell passed and they performed this song THAT same night! How many bands could pull that off? AMAZING musicians ❤

I had met the band earlier and Yuri picked out a shirt for me and was so sweet. Then at the live, when Kevin their manager moved the electronic drum kit right in front of me, I was so happy to know she would be playing right in front of me.

ガチャな～～。みんな上手なんだけどね～、誰一人ロックやってね～んだよな。 速弾きだけどロッキーじゃないギター、激しくチョッパーするんだけどファンキーじゃないベース、劇的な表現力を持っているんだけど歌っているのはJ-POPでもアイドル歌謡に寄ったほうのJ-POPのヴォーカル、とにかく最初っから最後までフュージョンやってるキーボード、Dr.ジョンとか聞いた事ね～んだろうなぁ。 歌はジャパニーズアイドルポップ、間奏はジャパニーズフュージョンミュージックのスタイルをテクにまかせていくら激しく演奏しても、アメリカでの大ウケは無理なんじゃね。

Apparently the organizers of this event chose for the stage to be that way. From what I learned, it’s been that way for every anime matsuri for 10 years now. And I agree. It’s a terrible set up for bands.

@@TheRobsam Maybe that works for anime dorks but it is weird for musicians. It is good to see J-Rock bands touring the USA a bit. Japan's rock scene is the world's best and has been since the 1990s, maybe since the 1980s.

@@TheRobsam Tbf I also noticed Oreo's keys were way too quiet in the mix for the first few tracks, at least where I was stood, front and centre. The sound was nailed down pretty well by about halfway through the set though.

What an opening..that's probably enough energy to power the whole Houston for a week. Thanks for capturing this gem. Seeing them on fancam just hits different. Btw I had no idea so many of their songs where used in anime. They should be way more popular with that going for them. How long was the set btw?

I didn’t know about the songs in anime either! This was at an anime fest and they played 3 songs from different anime shows but I didn’t shoot that part. Unfortunately, there were problems setting up Oreos keyboards and a few of Yuris drum mics so they started a little late, but the show was around an hour and forty five minutes. I’m just still stunned that they didn’t play my favorite song I Wish I!! Earlier in the day, they held an autograph session and I asked Tomo-Zo to please play Magic Umbrella Girl and she said she would and did.I mentioned that I Wish I was my fave song but alas they didn’t play it.

@@Aizix_ oh no. Way more than a few songs lol. They had to justify that expensive travel and they more than exceeded my expectations even without my fave song in the set. MUG is such a joy live and Tomo-zo seemed pleasantly surprised that I requested that song from her earlier that day. To be honest I fell even more in love with her after meeting her. She’s so amazing as a person.

Unravel from Tokyo Ghoul propelled TK from Ling Tosite Sigure to nearly 2 million monthly listeners and has nearly 300 million plays on Spotify. I dearly wish it was a Gacharic Spin song that had brought them that much popularity!

It was by far the best live show I’ve ever seen, and I’ve seen hundreds. They said that they will see us again soon so I’m hoping that means a proper American tour. If not, I’ll be flying to see them at this anime festival again when they return.

Actually, live they really weren’t drowned out at all, it’s just a lacking on iPhones part of being able to record all of the sound that’s going on.

Apparently this is the new formation as have heard it’s been this way on last few shows. Not having TMZ and Oreo on the same side means I’d be unsure as where I’d most want to be positioned!

I was surprised by the new formation as I wanted to be in front of Tomo-Zo but thankfully with this strange staging at this event, all of the members came out and moved around during the show. Even Oreo came out to dance and sing with us a few times
