@@MichaelJGetsTheJobDone Settlers 2 Gold edition (which i presume is in the 10th anniv) has a world conquest campaign. Basically every map is a continent. If you youtube it, you'll see a FEW walkthrough of it...

Hi there. I came across this last night and have a question. This is one of my all time favorite games, I still own the disks for the original and the 10th anniversary edition but for some reason i cannot get them to run on my newr pc's. Its like theres a compatability problem with newer software. Is there an updated version of the game available somewhere? I don't wanna have to drag my ancient PC out of the loft just to play this again Thanks for any help or suggestions you may have.

I didn't even try my old version of the game. Firstly, I've no CD drive anymore. Secondly, my version of the game wasn't in English anyway. I simply bought the game again on gog.com . Games bought there usually work on current day PCs, and so did this one. There's even a sale right now! You can get it for as low as 2.50 Euros.

So, Sam did die due to negligence and maybe a bit of incompetence. She also took an innocent life with her. All for a self-thought theory that some may use that virus for bad. Even though there was no evidence that was the case. I think she left Marguerit get in her head and that caused her paranoia.

I played this game a lot, and I'm pretty sure there're still things I don't know. Don't worry, you'll get there! Also, this is the hardest difficulty the unmodded version of this game has to offer. You don't need pro tactics to enjoy the game on easier settings. :)

XD Considering the game looking chill: this is the hardest difficulty the unmodded version of the game has to offer. It totally wasn't chill to play! :D Nonetheless, I wish you fun playing the game yourself if you choose to buy it! :)

Well, I needed 30 hours to finish this playthrough! This video's heavily edited. It's an open world! That's even more correct for the sandbox mode of the game. I've a video playing that mode if you're interested! :) You can continue playing the game after the credits! You even get new building blueprints and crafting recipes after loading back in.

Hi I’m trying my hand at playing on the sandbox mode, but having an issue so I thought I would ask you, when I’m in building mode I don’t have an option to build walls or standing torches or even mapstones, is there something I’m missing, I am playing on easier settings(forgive me I’m old and don’t have a lot of dexterity , I just like to explore, but not being able to build walls at my base makes me feel like there’s something wrong with the game😐 Thanks for your video, fun watching 😊

Did you build a proper hearth and craft a hammer? Both things unlock new building blueprints. I don't know which one of these unlock what, so I listed both. Afterward, both better hammers and bigger hearths keep unlocking new building blueprints later in the game. You don't need to excuse yourself for the difficulty you're playing on! @ thank you very much for the response, I did play on the campaign mode, but didn’t realize that’s how I got to build the walls🙄 lol I’ve been playing for the last couple hours, I did have a better hammer, I was trying to get a raid thinking that might help, but it’s when I put the bigger hearth that I got the raid and the walls 😄 thank you again for your help

It was frustrating to play as well! I should've given up on reaching the reconciliation ending sooner. By now, I've better playthroughs on my channel, though. The one on steward difficulty is probably the most enjoyable one! :)

Haha I like how it says at the start that the easy option that seems to offer the most benefits is not always the best choice but so far all I've seen is the easy option taken lol. I wonder what happens if you don't sacrifice people and only build the fanaticism by carving and other mundane ways what would happen?

Yeah, it seems straightforward which option to take. I mean, in most cases, the game shows the effects of each choice. And if it doesn't, it's still pretty clear which choice would be the right one. There was this one time I was approached by the Man in Yellow. He offered me two letters and told me to choose one. Once, during this event, I was curious and accepted one of the letters, and I was immediately punished for doing so! I don't know what you mean by your question. You can build up fanatism by letting people work in temples and graveyards without sacrificing anyone. Fanatism is a good thing in this game.

Right now, there're two more! One is unlocked during the second mission. The other one is unlocked by reaching the highest level of fanatism. I haven't reached that level yet, but the tool tip says so.

Attributes like intelligence don't unlock new crafting recipes anymore. Nowadays, you unlock new recipes through reading books. Attributes allow you to learn skills that improve your abilities using different things, weapons, etc. I maxed intelligence to become deadly with the baton. Next, I'd probably focus on not being so squishy instead of investing more points into intelligence skills.
