Love this. In my country almost everyone would just chuck the whole charger in the trash and buy a new one for 80$ or whatever it is these days. This is much better.

Hopefully this helps someone. My charger stopped and just before I bought a new one I tried the USB C port to see if it worked to charge. It worked! 🎉 just make sure to use a high powered block

This an excellent video and thank you very much. One question: Are all of these Magic Keyboards made the same? If so, wouldn't it be possible to create a guide that showed how ever key was oriented with respect to the part that slides in and the part that snaps down? That way, people wouldn't have to look under the keys to know which way it is oriented and the keys could be replaced faster.

I'm not sure. clearly the original rubber joint is not very good, so I think it would be a better idea to improve it when doing the fix. there is very poor strain relief, which is why these cables break.

Sure, the design wasn't perfect. I usually advice users to store the cable in a circular shape (and this is preferable for any electrical cable) to preserve not only the cable but also the joint. Why don't you attach the new lines directly on the Board instead of wireing it to the old cables and isolate it by tape??? It's to unsafe to soldering it to the old cables... Best Regards, Georg

Probably the best way would be to replace the entire cable. Yes, you'll need a soldering iron and you'll break the charger housing, but the result will be more advanced.

Very useful video. One filming technique - draw a box to show the area that your camera uses. Then make sure you don't move cables or tools outside the box. (Some footage is missing because the cable being repaired was not in frame.)

hi. the reason for the video was to show an "open magsafe 2 connector" ...just as it's explained in the video. Most people have not had the opportunity of seeing the 'insides' of a magsafe 2 connector....
