in everyday conversations, do thais just casually say "แปงฟัน" instead of "แปรงฟัน", you know, omitting the ร (R) sound?

Sometimes in English when we say, "It looks strange" we can say instead, "That's funny looking!" We don't mean it is humorous, but strange. From the tone of voice and the context (situation) it will be obvious. If we're using it that way, to translate into Thai the word แปลก instead of ตลก.

If i may ask why is Mai spelt like มั้ย and not ไหม?
