Up until 10 years ago I never knew this problem existed. A very close friend of mine picked up a 2008 f250 with the diesel engine. Speaking today anybody how knows their history with Ford now know that the 6.4 was the worst engine that they ever made. The weird thing was that the problem he kept on having was the DPF filter light. Since he is a corporate customer with Ford they drop everything to fix whatever is broken even on his personal vehicles. It wasn't until the third time in 6 months that light came back that I went with him to pick it up and talk to the mechanics. Everything you said is absolutely 100% right. He explained to me that the worst thing you can do is to drive your diesel truck every day for short journeys. He said if you would take it out on the highway about once a month and run it until the light comes on that it's regenerating itself there would be no need to keep on coming back. Now we go to today where I own a BMW X5 diesel I know some of the tricks on working on it. I have a professional grade scan tool just like the dealership I can put my car into regeneration mode anytime I want. The only dangerous part is if you're going to do this in your driveway you cannot have anything flammable or anything that might melt around your tailpipe. As soon as I'm done with this post I'm going to order a couple bottles of this product. What a big kick in the butt is that diesel trucks or cars run perfectly fine without that filter. Matter of fact you can get better gas mileage than you can with the filter. Just like our government always does they want to complicate things in our lives. Somebody made a decision that this would be a great idea and that it would clean up diesel exhaust. I suspect it's the person who invented DPF. My friend at the beginning of the story ended up in a big accident with his truck. Somebody ran a red light and took out the whole right side of his vehicle. He decided that his fleet trucks will still stay diesel his everyday vehicles are gas. I enjoyed your video and I most definitely give you a thumbs up. I also hit the subscribe button. I don't think the fluid you added had anything to do with it, your engine did. The regent when it needed to.

An additive will not clear the burnt off soot (ash) from the dpf. Only way is to remove the filter and clean it. You might’ve gotten slight relief but it’s gonna come back and bite you. Sorry to say that but it’s the truth! Per Cummins, once the filter reaches 58%ash level the filter needs to be removed and cleaned. Or code 1921 will become active then the dreaded 1922 will become active and per Cummins once 1922 is active the dpf needs to be replaced!

You’re the man.. does your furnace pop on and off intermittently or just stays on. Mine seems to pop on and off every few minutes. Blower stays steady but the furnace goes off and on. Definitely warming up the rig tho.

Hello Steve and Dawn, I must check in an thank you so much for taking the time to post this helpful and informative video!! We have a 2019 Ram 3500, 62,000 miles. Yep 4-days ago the same message Diesel Particulate Filter Full See Dealer (bring your wallet). I purchased the Rislone product put it in a quarter tank of fuel, ran for 40 miles and then filled up! Half way through that tank the message changed to "Exhaust System Regeneration in Process Continue Driving" several minutes later it was complete and return to the regular dash screen. So for the nay-sayers that say once it says "Full" it will not regenerate on its own"..... it does!!! Thanks again!!

The transmission is programed to shift to the highest gear all the time. This produces very low RPMs which does not allow the particles to burn off. To solve this, override the transmission. In a ford you can lock out the transmission from shifting above a selected gear. So around town you can prevent the transmission to shift above 6 or 7th gear. This keeps the REVs up and allows the particles to burnt off.

Not sure if anyone mentioned this but on the exhaust there is an injector that sprays DEF fluid into the exhaust during the regen process. That injector crystallizes because of the chemical makeup of the DEF fluid. This clogs the pray nozzle. You can take the injector out and soak it in hot water. That should is what resolved it for me. Try to do little to no idle

I put high idle on my 09 and haven’t had any issues with it not regenerating

I have a 2022 3500 that i use for towing a race trailer has 24000 miles on and im currently lemon lawing the truck cuz it goes into regen every 80 miles for 45 min and the dealer said this is like the 5th truck with a regen frequency issue they seen and they have no fix. So hopefully they will be buying it back and ill get a gmc

Usually what the issue is if the furnace fan comes on and the furnace does not light is you are out of propane! Just like in the movie "Sling blade"! Check the simple things first!

Using OEM recommended Blue DEF will lessen your issues.

2 DPF TRUCKS RAM never even seen a message 160k on first up to 28k on this one 1st was a 16 so no dpf filter gauge. But 2nd is a 21 with dpf gauge it’s allways on zero or close to that. Now I drive 1 hour to work and 1 hour back each week 1 time a week top off my fuel tank every week 8 to 10 gallons a week I always use hot shots secret edt and winter formula and twice a year there diesel extreme no problems and I have no affiliation with them and I drive big truck up to 144k a year biggest problem dpf on big rig so my point is I’d try this product and see what happens BTY I top off my fuel every week an ad a splash in tank yes my fuel is way dieluted but have not had any problems.
