Love you guys. Andrew, the difference in how you carry yourself between now and the beginning of this journey is dramatic. I truly believe that tackling your trauma head-on has changed you for the better, made you stronger. I am proud of you both. ❤️💚💚❤️ For those wondering about "making your spouse do something": It can be a sign if a strong relationship when one insists with very strong intention that the other do or not do something, but no actual force is involved. Each knows they have to make their own final decisions based on what they think is right and approriate, but each is very mindful of the needs and considerations of the other person. People in a good relationship can be strong in what they want, but make their requests and decisions based on what is best for all involved, and on any private agreements they have made outside our view. Seeing one spouse insist the other do or not do something does not necessarily mean they are railroading the person. It just means they feel strongly about the subject at hand and have the other person's best interest at heart. I means they want the best for them. I know these two well enough to say neither can "force" the other to do anything. My hub & I have a very similar relationship.

It isnt. His arteries run backwards through his brain which could have played a roll but ares' cp was caused from a stroke.

Thanks for sharing✔️. Wishing you guys all the best! I do have some questions, you said you haven’t spoken to your mom in years. What if something happened to her, do you know how to reach her? I know your dad respects your right not to prosecute, tho it’s understandable, she took his right to enjoy bringing you up and all the memories, which you have lost as well. Do you think your father did any of the things she said now to have met him? Doesn’t he have his marriage certificate with her name and ssn info? Doesn’t he remember where you were born to obtain your birth certificate? I hope you are reconnecting and enjoying as well as making new memories with him your siblings and family! All the best!- Stacey
@some.random.individuals8183 жыл бұрын
My mother changed all of her information (including SS#) as well, which we have most of. The only document we could possibly have any benefit from is my "fake" birth certificate, or at least location of "fake" birth.

This has been very interesting. So I'm curious as to how or what would happen if during this process your mom dies unexpectedly (cancer, heart attack, etc)? @sparkybish4 жыл бұрын
Depends on the mother.
@meadowlark223 жыл бұрын
Not at all. When she kidnapped him, she shoved him into the trunk of her car. She would not let him have any friends, drove his future wife away. She took him to Disney land and made him stay in the hotel room while she went to the park. There was a lot more emotional abuse. She told him all sorts of lies for decades.

I am so proud of you guys for standing up to Andrew's mom. Your child's welfare is clearly your most important concern and I think he could have no better parents. Your continuing story is riveting. Andrew willingly delves into his most painful memories, fights to reach the other side, emerging victoriously each time, no matter the pain. I can see his spirit being a bit brighter with each successful foray. Alexis, you have appeared pretty calm through all this, but I know this has been a difficult journey for both of you. I love that you are faithfully by his side, helping him along. I am so happy you have each other to lean on. 💑 You guys are awesome! This fills in some empty spots in the story well. We are getting a yet better overall picture of Andrew's mom and her manipulation. I can't imagine how tough it was for a child to experience that all day, every day for years. My mom was a toxic piece of work, but not on this level. I was greatly relieved when she finally passed. No more snarky comments to hurt me or my sister. Andrew's brother sounds like a real gem. I find it very cool that the two brothers are similar and so are their wives. It's like "things aligning" somehow, as they were meant to be, or should have been. I am so glad you are close. It's great to see/hear you two smile and laugh. I finally understand the term "step grandmother". If I've still got it wrong, please let me know. So your mother's father was married more than once, and his later wife was the one your brother contacted, not a bio grandmother. She would have been your mom's stepmother. Your grandfather's first (or earlier) wife would have been your mom's bio mother. Seems easy to understand now. I come from families that seldom divorced or remarried for several generations, so I've not had to think about relatives in that light. I'm not saying they were all happy unions. In case you didn't know, the dip in the back yard, is a swale ditch. When housing subdivisions are planned, the U.S. Corps of Engineers surveys the entire area of the floodplain and requires the developer to make certain changes to the land for good drainage, based on the lots and how they are arranged. The Corps makes the plan and the developer must abide to it. If anyone in the neighborhood later changes their swale(s), filling in because they want more flat areas for use, it changes the drainage for their property and that of their neighbors, and is actually illegal. I've run into the issue myself in an older neighborhood where at least one unthinking homeowner decided to "do away" with one or more. Just an interesting factoid. I'm not implying you guys would ever do that. 😆 at you and Mary Jane. She gave you the "look" and you backed off as fast as you could. 🤭 😾 ...and the death stare continued! I was laughing and had to go back and re-listen to what Alexis was saying. My cat understands apologies too. That doesn't mean you won't be swatted though. Kitty made sure you knew you were in trouble. 🤣🤣🤣 Y'all are so funny. I've always thought that being able to move up and down the emotional scale is important to healing. Early in our marriage, my hub taught me to laugh more than I used to. Love you, and looking forward to the book. 💟💟💟💟💟
