I don't know crap about engines and bought a woodchipper with 212cc alphaworks engine. That metal lever with 2 springs to the right of the throttle is some sort of governor arm? Some of my springs have slack in them. Not interested in the governor as much as figuring out what the spring setup was supposed to be.I can pull that arm to the left and it auto returns to a point and I think I can move it to the right where it stays where I leave it. I've only run it for an hour on light stuff to break it in.

I’m running a stock predator Class that this is not allowed, so how do you get your engine to rev higher without doing this?
@natebeseman99999 ай бұрын
I would say static adjustment for the governor arm should have been mentioned. Most people know about the throttle stop screw that needs to be removed, but i had to losen the static adjustment very slightly to get a full close, and full open with this given adjustment that probably increaced my rpm from 4000 to 5000.
@natebeseman99999 ай бұрын
You just saved me $200, and my electric start. Thank you so much for this video. I am still a little concerned about the stock flywheel with 5000 rpm, but if you say it works, then it works.

I find it easier to just put a bend in the governor spring, thus making it have more tension. Though i only set mine to 4000-4200 rpms...higher than that and you risk the flywheel coming apart
@jakehamilton85447 ай бұрын
I have raced karts for 20 years a d I have never seen a flywheel come apart

Theres nothing wrong with how it's working on the kart. You have to treat it like you would a race clutch on a car. Even though it feels like your riding the clutch out to much, but your not. Your problem is your releasing way to quickly rather than slowly releasing. feathering throttle rather than steady revving might work better as well.
@KartArt3 жыл бұрын
They actually redesigned the clutch after this for heavier platforms like a cart etc. I never tried that version but it was suppose to engage better.
