I lived in Panama from 4th-6th grade while my dad was stationed at Ft Davis with the army. My school had a conjunto tipoco dance troupe who would go out & perform at different festivals that I was part of! I still have mine, that was made in Colón! I had the tembleques, yellow velvet shoes, and all the gold jewelry. Unfortunately, the jewelry was stolen when we moved back to the states by the movers in Tennessee. 😢

I think the profit margins of luxury brands are too big, which is why there are various imitation luxury goods on the market. For example, the famous *amzclothes* , their existence is reasonable and targets different groups.

This was so fun to watch. My grandmother (father’s mother) was born and raised in Panama, 🇵🇦, but I’ve never met her or any part of my family on that side, including my father who spoke Spanish. As a kid I had met plenty of Mexicans and Puerto Ricans but I had never once met another person from Panama or of Panamanian descent. Now that I’m an adult I’m really enjoying learning about that part of my heritage. I’m also learning Spanish. Thank you so much for this content and please thank your mother for sharing this culture with those of us who couldn’t learn it from the women in our lives.
