I love the way you teach-it’s so easy for me to understand! I usually take a long time to grasp things like this, but your method just clicks for me. After struggling with countless videos and searches, your teaching has finally made scales clear for me. I bought your Ultimate Major Scales Fingering Guide, and every time I practice a scale, I visit your channel to see how you play it. My sax is in the shop right now (it had a small leak and dirty pads-green stuff came off when the tech used a clean paper!). I'll get it back on Nov 28th, and I’ve already memorized the G, F, D, and C major scales while practicing in my head. I can’t wait to start again with your guidance! I’m also on the waiting list for your Pro Saxophone Success course-ready to join when it opens. Thank you for making everything so easy to understand!

I have a question: Some of the scales you provided include both the 1st and 2nd octaves. For example, the F Major scale has both. Should I practice both octaves together, or focus on the 1st octave first and come back to the 2nd later? What do you recommend?

Wouldn’t it be more confused when you are learning more new keys after you mastered one with the set of fingering? How to avoid confusion ?

I’ve started on the lower range, on the bottom edge of the clef and that is really easy, but the middle range is the hard part for me!

Omg. As someone who plays guitar and piano, the sax setup makes absolutely zero sense to me 😂 Maybe I need to just keep watching more videos.

What about the smaller paddles in front of the right hand palm keys??
Much thanks ! In addition to the non- transposing instruments mentioned the most common type of trombone is the tenor trombone, it is non-transposing. The more I learn about music "theory" and music instruments the more outraged I am about my many decades ago K-12 experience, and going by a recent purchase of beginner trombone book, nothing has changed, it's mostly terrible IMO. It will take me a few paragraphs to point out the very obvious, but then you wouldn't find music instruction disturbing lame voodoo incantations. KNOW there is no difference between transposing and non-transposing , he says that. By convention the music written for you to play is transposed from concert pitch that piano and other non-transposing instruments play. There is a tuner phone app I love, called Carltune that reports concert pitch including octave number and cents off, and staves which change with note. You could learn to play transposing instrument in concert pitch, then it would be non-transposing or you could buy staff lined blank notebook and transpose music written for piano or organ to transposed version you have learned for a particular instrument. I never heard the words music "theory" in all of K-12 and what is taught with that name is a powerful convenient (but tone compromised) music system called 12 Tone Equal Temperament. There are other systems, Just Intonation systems are intentionally pitch fussy compared to 12TET. Piano Keyboard and Music Notation of staves are both derived from and for 12TET. LOUSY trombone lessons never showed me the big bend at the rear of every tenor trombone is moveable as a tuning slide, I thought it was made as one piece. The overtone notes of each slide position was something I was completely unaware of when I quit after some years of "lessons" Bloody damn abusive crime IMO.
