I literally just entered my final payment. Borrowed 76,195 and paid $123,561 and 49 trifling cents. I’m over this system. I wish I had made wiser choices and worked to pay some of this out of pocket. But I am glad it’s over. I just think more overhauls are needed.

57% of people who can vote and didn’t, shows that both candidates are unfit for speaking for the majority of Americans. Both sides look crazy to most people. Both sides are hateful & pretentious. We need better choices first, then we will probably see more votes. 57% not voting seems like a protest to me. 🤷🏽‍♂️

One thing you need to learn about men in general esp white men, there's never any illiberal white men. Usually they are gay, or they tell you as women to get in your pants. The reason why Democrats lost is because they did not push what they would do for the economy hard enough, not enough about border safety and the price of food. Trying to regulate private businesses can step into government overreach. My advise for 2026 and beyond is to push jobs, economy and safety. You will win. Also to your point you were told who to make president...This is not democracy. Your choice was made for you. That's fascism. This is what you accuse republicans of being.

It's interesting that you guys are laying blame on the white folks. TBC, I'm BLACK black. From Detroit. But hear me out... Dems got 10 million fewer votes, but Trump got *1 million fewer votes.* Trump did not win because he was "more" popular. He won because Harris was *LESS* popular. The analogy I've been using that has made sense for folks is if you and I work the same job, but my hours get cut in half and your hours get cut by 1/4, we both make less money--but you make more than I do and it has nothing to do with you being better, smarter, faster, or more qualified. We're both down, you're just less down than I am. And in saying that, my point is that voter *voter apathy* is what decided this election. And we have to get to the root of why Democratic voters are more apathetic than Republican voters. Here's my theory: Democratic messaging is mostly that "everything is great." They get on TV and talk about "the greatest economy, ever" and how GDP is up for the nth consecutive quarter, and unemployment is this, and wage growth is that. But the average person does not see a connection between quarterly GDP growth and their wallet. Democratic messaging is disconnected from the lived reality the median household when it comes to the economy. Moreover, Harris was basically serving up the same old warmed over Democractic talking points, which fails to emotionally resonate with people, either from how they feel right now, or what they expect of the future. And the last thing I'll say is I don't think Americans feel, generally speaking, that Democrats *fight* for them. The slightest bit of pushback from Republicans and the Dems drop it and complain about procedural rules blocking them from making any kind of progress. But surprise, surprise, a bill that benefits corporations gets done. So whether it's the $15 minimum wage, the VRA, the Public Option (all things I'm 100% in favor of), or any other issue which isn't favoring corporations, the Dems don't seem very serious about it. Put these three things together and you get voters who simply don't *believe you,* anymore and even the threat of another Trump administration is not enough to motivate them off of the couch. So, did white people show up for Trump? Sure. But in less total numbers than they did in 2020. And I think that's not discussed enough, which makes it much easier to find fault everywhere but where it really belongs: DNC blindness to economic populism, scripted candidates (in every sense of the phrase), and a legislative imperative that favors corporations more than it does the people. To the extent that Trump is more well identified with sub-$50k households, I think it's because he told the truth--as *they* experience it. He got out there and said the economy sucks. And while that's not supported by the facts, it's *feels* true to people who do not see their pay increase every quarter the way GDP does. In fact, they feel the opposite, it's getting tighter and tighter for them. So I'll end with a final thought which isn't political at all. GDP growth is no longer a good measure for the health of the American economy. At one time it was. Americans' pay grew with productivity up until the mid 1970s. But now that productivity gains far exceed wage growth, it's lost it's relevance. We need a new economic measure that reflects the reality of the "median household" in real terms.

The Joe Biden "resistance" to Bernie didn't know what they were going to do once they beat their two bad guys Bernie then Trump. Kamala's position as VP was just her price for dropping out to support Biden in 2020 (from i was that girl to we did it Joe). Biden should have allowed a primary and dropped out. What were they afraid of? Bernie wasn't coming back this time.

I guess I was fooled by my own financial situation literally shooting into the stars over the last 2 years, as Biden’s policies began to work for me. I thought everyone was doing well because I was. People were able to hire me again, and they actually paid their bills in full. I also got raises at my county contracting jobs. I thought it meant the corporate media was emphasizing the bad news for views, and it was not the truth.

Nobody on the democratic side wants to admit how terrible Harris's campaign was. She didn't just lose she failed. Let's stop talking non college educated men and misinformation and Let's talk about how the Harris campaign had no benefits or policies for working Americans that don't have college debt and benefits for single men. Let's talk about how Harris rather have stripper rapers do a concert than introduce herself policies and clear misinformation. Let's talk about how democrats wanted to focus on abortion while everyone else was rightfully worried about the economy. Democrats we playing checkers while they opponents were playing chess. And like chess, you don't overlook the pawns cause any one of them can be your downfall

The Latinos could only make red state redder. They did not impact this election like once again the media is lying to you all. And obviously white women have always been on the side of patriarchy because they are the biggest beneficiary of patient patriarchy along with their children. Your analysis is lacking a lot of critical race theory, and it seems clearly that you are listening to mainstream media instead of the new black media. Once again Black people in the swing states decided this election. Also what it seems you guys are unaware of Hispanics, regardless of their skin complexion often identify as white. There was never a such thing as a Juan Crow.

My question is, as black women how much did you listen to black men who were expressing their concerns not only would Kamala Harris and her alleged blackness but also with the DNC and their lack of addressing their treatment of “migrants“ in the black community. You are outline how much of the media you were listening to but how much of the new black media were you watching? Because in the new black media, they clearly were speaking for the hearts and minds of the people, especially in those critical urban centers that were the swing states. Because regardless of How white women voted or anybody else voted the Keith demographic that didn’t show up or Black people in those urban centers in those swing states like Atlanta, Charlotte, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Detroit, Milwaukee.

Even in their own countries Latino/as are EXTREMELY conservative, anti-black and live in that machismo mess heavy. Of course, they think they're the exception and Trump isn't talking about "them."

After what happened in 2016: I’m disappointed, but I’m not surprised. I do think that Democrats should focus on people who are Educated instead of only those who have degrees. A. Degrees- people that completed college. B. Educated- people who completed university, community college, Trade School, or obtained professional-level certifications. Most Americans don’t have A (and can’t afford it) Poor Americans and immigrants can afford B, obtain a decent blue-collar salary from it, and (as a lot of immigrant parents do) use that money to send their children to college.

Why the hell do you think men you say you hate would vote in your best interest? 50% of men have stopped dating and you thought they were going to vote for Harris why? and now you're hating on the 80% of black men who did vote for Kamala. From a honest perspective. The vast vast majority of people who voted for Kamala did so bc they were fighting for the idea of a womans right to choose to have a abortion, which if Kamala won would still be state controlled. Or to see history of the first Caribbean Indian American president. That was it. None of this resignates with White men.

I think that a lot of Democrats live in their own echo chamber or bubble where we as a collective think that everyone is liberal and was voting for Kamala Harris. Personally, I don't identify as Republican or Democrat, but I do consume content from BOTH parties and even a lot of independent media, so Harris's loss wasn't a surprise to me. The Young Turks for instance were very honest and held both parties equally accountable in their coverage. However, there was an obvious rose-colored perspective with mainstream media leading many to think that Harris had this win in the bag. I think that what hurt more than anything was the lack of time to have a primary. Harris was not everyone's first pick. AOC made that clear months ago. Initially, even Obama was saying that there should have been a primary.

Ladies, specifically black women, it alienates ALL people when you talk to white people like this. We spent decades being on your side judging people who spoke about black people negatively and now the black community who once had the moral high ground is sounding off-putting. Your starting to like those clips in the 1920s only now people are not for it. Simply put Harris lost because her community blamed white people that's the truth. It made me sick every time I heard black liberal women talk because I knew the Democrats were going to pay for it. It got so bad I left the left. Black women aren't any better than any other race.

You guys don't get it. You just don't get it, you have absolutely no idea why people voted the way they voted. You guys talk about the right pushing their conservative values on you.. well they don't like it when liberals push their Progressive stuff on them. They don't like the fact that their daughters have to compete against a boy, they don't like that transgender is being taught to the elementary school kids. Not to mention.. Everyday life.. they're looking at groceries, they're looking at gas prices they're looking at insurance, they looking at car note these things are astoundingly high.. and not to mention, Harris was just not a good candidate. She wasn't she could not answer questions she had absolutely no policies especially economic policies, number two.. people don't know her.

I don't get it.. you guys don't get it. First of all you guys are black women. You belong to a small minority group in the united states.. white people came out 76 percent of the population.. can you repeat that I'm going to vote for a biracial mostly Indian woman by the way..... if they don't connect or relate to her. That's number one and number two. All this stuff about voting against your interest. Their interest is lower inflation. Their interest is low prices and low food and low cost of living and low rent and low mortgage and low gas insurance car notes utilities etc etc. Because she's a woman and or you think that she's black... I'm going to say this as a black guy again. This is not your country, you are a small minority group. You're running around here talking about uneducated white man. Sweetheart.... they are 76% of the population. That's number one and by the way I'm part of that working class.. I can't afford a lot of stuff. I do not relate to the Democrats anymore it is an elite party in fact you guys are part of this Elite establishment, by the way you're talking. Uneducated uneducated is what you keep saying. So the Democrats have become an unrelatable political organization that the working class / commoners cannot relate to and it's constituencies represent a rich white elite donor class, with some lgbtq feminist female elements. But back to the fact that you have black women who think that somehow some way they are a majority population and are going to have an electric government of their choosing. Means you are delusional. But again... the Democrats have dropped the ball they stopped being the working class political organization. Hidden by the way. Most Americans don't go to college. And the college doesn't mean anything..... are most people are stuck in debt.. trust me I'm a 50-year-old man I know people who've been to college come and haven't paid off their college debt until they're late 40s. In white women, unlike a lot of black women on the internet. They stand by their men.. they are not going to go against their male counterparts especially in these Midwest and is Rust Belt parts of the country. And another thing is.. and again, the reality is. Is that a lot of these white women have bills to pay have a family to take care of..

This was a great discussion. As a white woman I can say that I am so disappointed in the white women out there that voted for Trump. I just don’t get it. Through conversations with others and probably more of my thoughts just going crazy with trying to understand how it happened. Your religion chart might have debunked my thoughts that this was mainly a religion issue, but what about women just not thinking on their own and just automatically following their husband/brother/father. Is that still a thing?

Do you notice what you glossed over? White people demographic gets broken down into College Grad vs Not. Black people are content that “racism/misogyny “ was the motivation of whites/Latino men……..but were not offended that the demographers did not bother slicing blacks into college grad vs not My bigger point: why do black Dems focus on “the national fights “ against GOP instead of fortifying black communities that are totally dominated by one party, whose activists (aka protesters) are also the ones who put the people in power, but are less inclined to protest against friends when the promised changes do not take “organic root “ Could it be that you are not desiring a “managed fix” for our people. You want to fight your adversaries for power, but only on the space where they stand (the local spaces require All Hands On Deck management, not a fight )

Trump won after saying (in a presidential debate) that he has concepts of a plan. The VAST majority of the working class think that Tarrifs and Trump’s tax cuts will benefit them, AND thought Kamala was too far to the left… If you really think going farther to the left as a party, and explaining that our policies benefit the working class is what’s going to win the next vote, you live in a bubble. Give them bumper stickers and catch phrases, and empty promises. People are dumb!!! They don’t care about facts, all Trump did was tickle their ear with what they wanted to hear while doing the opposite and he won.
