Hi Rick, I think the black it would be black for me , I think an all with setup won't look right but that's just my opinion. I'll be InTouch soon regarding a d36 box, will you be coming back to Cheltenham soon with James?

Rik, I’d have either. Would be good to have some branding embroidery on the rear of the seat too to the left hand side. Just a thought.

Would consider the black one but for me the white is a no go. Why the orange piping thats guru colours in fact the whole shape is very Guru ? Personally like the Octbox black and white colour combo best, but have noticed orange is making a takeover bid.

Rick, if the white color will be the same as the modules, white. If not the same color black. It would be nice if the padded seat has the the same sitting high as the rotated seat when put on the modules. Changing seats means also changing frame height for the 90 degrees angle of your knees.

The white looks really nice, the comfort and quality is most important. However, it must be better than the other after-market option I could buy!

I think the black Version is more beautifull and even when the white is stainless it will get dirty. But in hot summer the white Version will be more practical because of the heat. I would buy both and will choose a seat depending on the weather.

Black, white will muck up even if stain proof, but as others have said, for about £120 you can get a custom seat that is very good quality and long lasting, do like the slight shape change to overhang the box like the REVA

Brilliance, if only people would think About where they're going fishing and what they need, And half of the time you don't even need a foot plate, Because your fishing off platforms or well constructed Pegs, Or half of the stuff that carrying, They're not going to use, It brought a smile to my face, if only people would stop and think about what they're doing.

I see alot of issues with this system to man parts and adjustments that dont help the angler at all the risk of getting stuck in mud or silt you might want to look at the power poles that are used in the US on boats for inspiration it would be better if you had a system that could stake itself to the bottom and level out with the ground or bank surface this could increase distance from the bank and you could probably reduce the weight
@richardtyler29627 күн бұрын
it is no different from setting up a std platform. The outrigger bar only weighs 2kg as its in aluminium. Under normal match fishing competition rules if the depth at the back of the anglers platform is more than 50cm he must be able to touch the bank.

...It's not actually once you get used to setting it up. I've used mine on the Thames Festival to great effect- the advantage of being so much closer to the water surface gives you a distinct confidence and enhanced pleasure to fishing during a match. You simply can't do this with platforms that have plastic parts in their locking systems. The OctBox OutRigger system is unsurpassed for secure, stable box /platform setup in the water. The only thing I would be cautious of is underestimating the amount of silt one might encounter when bedding the frame down
@takleteck700829 күн бұрын
Agreed. You've got to buy it & carry it. He had it all laid out, planned and ready, yet as an expert still took 10 mins. Must be so risky with unknown silt and what if a foot was resting on a knife edge log and it slipped! He said that you might need it once per year but you wouldn't know until you got to your peg. Only for serious match anglers that want to cheat and set up a system 6m from the bank in chest deep waters at the Evesham festival. When is James handing his trophy back?

I love the ideas and the engineering but i do think it is getting a bit more like a designer fishing box and very expensive ..does it catch more fish long and short no
@richardtyler296Ай бұрын
Hi Nick, actually when you consider it is a seatbox and barrow chassis in one it is actually very cheap considering most Octbox anglers are getting over ten years of use and still have a box that is good enough to sell on. Aluminium is not a cheap material but despite that in 2018 our D25 box cost £550 and today it costs £575. Wages have gone up considerably over those years so we have done very well to keep prices down while still improving the quality.

What a difference to back in the 90's when I first came across octopluse gear when you did leg systems and accessories that could be put onto boxes like the old Shakespeare box. I had a leg system with all the accessories including two of your old red side trays and they were still as good when I sold my box last year as they were the day i brought them about 30 years ago . Shame not many tackle shops stock your gear now so that i could see what your gear is like now 👍

This has got to be the most pointless video of all time. My Preston box weighs 10kg if you take the legs and platform off and leave them at home 😂 sorted
@richardtyler2962 ай бұрын
I left the extending tool bar on the footplate that can take up to 3 nets which Preston box do not have. You cannot remove your Preston middle legs because the clamps of the four remaining legs would not be strong enough to support the weight of even the lightest angler . Happy to send you the video clip of the Preston test at Cambridge University test lab if required that shows the performance on the Preston Flagship model leg clamps

@roberttms2 ай бұрын
You deffinitly don’t know what you’re talking about. If you remove the middle legs of yout Preston box you won’t be able to use it. He doesn’t remove the footplate but the drawers to make it easier to lify in the car. Especialy handy for disabbled people or people with a bad back. Don’t think you can do that with a Preston box? 🤔 The Octbox is for people of every weight and lenght and the best box for people who are disabbled or have a bad back. You just need the middle inner legs if you weigh more than 80 stones. You can customize an Octbox the way you want.
@garymason89782 ай бұрын
A very interesting video Rick with great logic behind it..I will soon be buying the footplate to use with my recently purchased Octbox Compact..as you demonstrate in this video,it takes a matter of seconds to unclip the drawer modules and lift the box into the car in two separate parts and then clip the drawer unit back on again..therefore not risking your back..excellent! 👏
