I was just doing something else and I hear the excellence of the sound from this piece and then I see Alicia de Larrocha is playing , I say to myself she's really good at Albeniz . I don't think there is anyone better to my ear she is perfect .

All I can say is... what a talented pianist. No matter how many time listen, both the Allemande and Courante holds a spot in my heart. I first came to know this piece from the Air - Harmonious Blacksmith, but the former 2 movement is just so nice....

katherineparadis, pghagen...I grant you Larrocha has "the touch" I have loved her playing all my life! But IMO (in my opinion) she joins the hosts of those who play this unspeakably beautiful sonata TOO SLOW! lisilsin, "moderato" doesn't mean "legato". Here is my offering of "a better way." Listen to the slightly faster performance by Pletnev, and how he also makes slight variations when he repeats...I say it's BETTER: kzbin.info/www/bejne/h3unnHZ_m6hlf68 I welcome your opinion as I have given mine. Also, I wonder if you've played this yourself and tried it just a little faster?

Interesting that she plays G sharps in bar 9, 14/15 etc. whereas many 'correct' the score to G natural to match the other occurrences of the idea, assuming the accidental has been forgotten. I'd love to know what Debussy actually wanted!

Ciaccona ist ein bewegter Tanz mit etwas verschärften punktiertem Rhythmen, das Tempo wenig verändert. Die Busonitranskription ist ein spätromantisches Falsifikat.

I am a 81 yr pianist and Alicia dela Rocha was and always be my best artist model to admire and Inspire until the day I die!! I am playing El puerto as well in my recital sept 1. She will be in my soul forever to admire. I did meet her in Lincoln center many years ago. And had her sign my villa lobos collection book. My spirit will connect with her and hope to receive her blessings when I play el puerto and villa lobos Brasileira as well. She is n always the Best pianist in my opinion !!! Love to the family n aloha. Maria Tan in Hawaii with love❤ ❤ 🎵 🎶
