They look like 2 males to me, that's why the larger one chased off the smaller one and they don't swim around together. Keep an eye on them as the smaller one may get bullied until it gets sick. You may need to move it to the endlers tank.
@RodsAquaticsКүн бұрын
@@md8421 so I agree with you and the next day I went to the store to swap out for a female and when I came downstairs one of the males jumped. But the other one is still here doing great!

This is one of my favorite tank concepts. I call it the "Guppy Explosion," but haven't conducted the experiment with Endlers as yet. (Typically, however, some Endler genetics will emerge if you just include Guppies in the original set of parents.) I recently set up a 20 gallon version of almost this exact same tank (minus the bristlenose but with african-dwarf frogs) and am waiting for the population to finally explode. I started with a wide variety of about 8 guppies and have about 40 now, with the "explosion" likely to happen within the next month or two. And, BTW, you don't need to worry about what to do when you have too many. The population will take care of itself by cutting down on breeding and increasing consumption of the fry. You can also take some into your LFS and at least get some store credit -- typically $.50 to $1.00 each, in batches of fifty.

Your fave red guppy looks like a salmon during spawning season! I've been having fun breeding a mystery hybrid trio I got from an LFS. They were marked as guppies, but I'm certain they have some endler genes based on the size of the males. I've been separating all the blondes from the regular grey-based body ones. I have so many now from those original 3...loads of different coloured males and patterns. The females are really pretty too in their tail fins :)

Good work dude , but you would have alot better coloration by dedicating to certain lines instead of mixing .. my female guppies have tones of patterns and colours .. it's because you've crossed guppies and endlers .. keep guppy lines pure 😅

@bellasam5888 theyre endlers not guppies. Only guppy hybrid is the blue one. Endler females are always non colored :)
@kaden.slone04_biology2 ай бұрын
@@RodsAquaticsCobra endlers / yellow tiger endlers (they look very similar to each other so I get their names mixed up but this applies to both of them) are also guppy hybrids. They came from cobra guppy / yellow tiger guppy males crossed with endler females. The 'el tigre' endler strain (which is black, yellow, and green with a short tail) meanwhile is a true endler.
@JeffreyHopkins-m9l2 ай бұрын
I began with 6 guppies, 4 females, 2 males 2 years ago. I now have 6 tank devoted exclusively to guppies. My local fish store has benefited from my excess.
