I’m a history buff, and I am currently taking the APUS. I too find the textbook boring due to its basic nature. Although this video does have good advice.

They did a good job, they mentioned slavery enough and gave a glimpse into the topic. If this show was about abolition then yes it should show more information on slavery but its about the independence of the USA and slavey was a backseat topic during that time period. I think the criticism of it not mentioning slavery enough is questionable. They picked a right balance of it.

I got a 4 on the final AP test for APUSH without studying or doing the required homework (my class grade because of that was a B, which I basically only got because i kept it afloat by getting good test results throughout the year). No notes, no required hw, but the two things i did do were to pay attention in class and then watch Heimler. That guy is a life saver

Unfortunately most people don't know our American history. All they really know is the surface level talking points. Given gems like this is a shame that this is more or less shoved under the carpet.

I’m about to enter 6th grade and in 5th grade we watched liberty kids to learn about the American Revolution.And Man the whole class was so happy when our teacher put it on and some people knew how to sing the intro song (best song ever ) which is shocking.

I was 8 years old, being molested every night, an UT was watching this show, hearing the theme song, tgat kept hope alive in me. Back when this show was bew, yes I'm old lol. I never forgot the lyrics and I'm currently rewatching, all episodes are free on KZbin, when I started rewatching I cried as I suddenly remembered how I would look forward to watching this show before school ameveryday on public access cable. Hiw thus show gave me tye strength to stab my molester in his beck when I caught him in the act with my little sister, how this show is what saved me and my siblings from horrible abuse because it gave me the courage and strength to finally stand up for my sister. I was 8 years old and I was a hero because this show gave me hope. I'm not calling myself a hero out of hubris or pride, I'm just saying tgats how I felt knowing my sister was safe because I did my duty as her bug brother.

This is still one of my favorite shows. It showed how both sides were wrong in some aspects and right in others. It humanized each and every figure and taught extremely hard topics, like slavery and war, in ways that were historically accurate and easy for a young brain to digest.

Liberty kids is no doubt pbs most mature tv show of them all it openly tackles mature concepts like slavery and killing to the fullest it doesn’t even try to tone it down or disguise it it openly dares to talk about it directly saying the words there are no implications it’s directly given to the audience

2024 - just took the apush exam and I bombed it. If you have no idea how to write an SAQ DBQ or LEQ without help from the internet, don't even bother taking the exam. Don't be lazy, go over the rubrics and get plenty of practice months ahead of time. Don't waste money. I had an A in the class with no effort, but trust me-- im pretty sure i got a 1
@ufohoh

so true. but really it depends on your class and its syllabus in my school most kids take WHAP before APUSH, so my teacher taught it as if we had already learned how to write all the essays, but i took the class without taking WHAP and i had no idea what a DBQ even meant. but luckily we did so much practice in class so i was really confident when it came time for the actual test. sorry to hear about your experience tho and good luck if you take other ap tests in the future

@@ufohoh @ufohoh I feel like if you take WHAP like early on as a freshman, it really builds your discipline. That way you don't get lazy and Google everything. You actually take time to study... Im feeling a bit more prepared for my AP Lang test tomorrow

Thank you or saying that they are complex people and that you can't say they are all good or all evil. I've talked to too many people who were only 8 years younger than me who just want to demonize them and not take any of the good they did into account. Humans are flawed, they change over time, and sometimes compromises must be made. You must look at the good and the bad.

How could they cancel such motherfreuding gold like Liberty's Kids, while garbage like Bluey gets a big fan base and subreddit but the best part about bluey on is that there's a hate club about bluey. anyways back to Liberty's Kids, I'm sure all of us 5th graders have watched Liberty's Kids even fifthies this year like me love it and there's some ytp edits on 17 of the episodes.

It's so weird that you speak about slavery like it's some terrible taboo. Slavery is the natural recourse of eroding your brain's metric for "work vs reward". It's as common as air. Most relationships are based on soft slavery. The idea of sacrificing autonomy for greater pleasure. The problem is the more addicted a person gets to self-satiation on demand or "instant gratification" the more prone they become to WANTING slavery and if you deny them soft slavery they will gravitate towards psychopathic abusers.
