Thanks dr. Moncrief 👍❤. In my practice, I am guided by the GAS syndrome of Hans Selye. Anxiety and Depression is a response to the challenges/stresses of life ,( physical ,emotional ,social spiritual) triggering Selye's 3 stages of Alarm, Response & Exhaustion. Less drugs better. No drugs best. Resolve the precipitating factors, best done in counseling / life coaching.

It's never ever been about calories. You cannot eat heat energy! It's all about Mass in mass out. Calories are mass less, and is only a term pertaining to closed systems. Humans are open systems. it has nothing at all to with calories...nothing at all. It's all about MASS IN MASS OUT...make sure you understand this.... Take a litre of boiling water and measure it on a set of scales...record its weight. Then let it cool down to room temp say 20 degrees celcius. Record its weight. You will see that its weight has not changed yet its temp has by 80 degrees. Therefore its lost 80kcal but kept its weight....it proves that calories have nothing to do with weight. Secondly if you use the figures for protein, carbs and fat in terms of kcal 1gm of carb is 4.2kcal 1gm of protein is 4.2kcal 1gm of fat is 9kcal But swapping it around you get 1kcal of carbs is 0.25gm 1kcal of protein is 0.25gm 1kcal of fat is 0.11gm This explains why Low carb effectively works Why? If you are eg on a 2500 kcal daily intake using the "calorie" model on both low carb high fat and high carb low fat YOU ARE TAKING IN LESS MASS by swapping carbs for fat....so you will lose body fat. So Its MASS not CALORIES that matters...I hope you are clear on this. Obviously there are many other factors at play like insulin and grehlin among others but from the food intake perspective its MASS at play not CALORIES. Each time we breathe out, we are releasing MASS into atmosphere along with water, tears, sweat, ketones, etc...poo..all have MASS.

I respect Dr Lustig, but he is wrong to say VLDL is bad. It's not bad, without it we die. What is bad is what sugars do to ldls. They turn them bad. LDL isnt driven by fat in the diet..its driven by carbohydrates. Sugars..enter the circulation and damage the LDL particles. VLDLs..then IDLs..then LDL..all have a apo b 100 marker on their surface. The LDL receptor binding site is crucial for the liver to accept and recognise an LDL particle..ITs sugar from both simple and complex carbs that damage these binding sites through a process called glycation. This stops the liver from recognising it. It also fractionally shrinks it..causing it to be termed as small LDLs. This leads to oxidation of the LDL particle. Sugar can also cause it to become glyco oxidised which causes oxidative stress to the liver which leads to fatty liver disease. This damages the apob100 protein..makes it impossible for the liver to remove it from the circulatory system. So in effect it accumulates in the blood. This is what we term as an increase LDL particle count. Its the particle count which is a much better predictor of cardio vascular risk. So for an oxidised LDL particle to enter into an atherosclerotic plaque it has to pass through the lining of the artery. It firstly needs to breach this brush like layer called the glycocalyx. High levels of blood sugar damage the glycocalyx. Lectins in foods also damage the glycocalyx. The loosening of the tight junction proteins holding the epithelial tissue together. This lets the oxidised LDLs and circulating monocytes to enter into the sub endothelial space. Once there these monocytes turn into a macrophage. These macrophages express scavenger receptors which can recognise and bind to the damaged LDL particles that the liver receptors could not. These engulfed macrophages leads to the formation of a foam cell..a macrophage packed with lipids. Its these foam cells that are contained within atherosclerotic plaque..end result a BLOCKAGE. This is process...remembering that SUGAR is the cause not FAT. Humans do not need to ingest a single gram of sugar..not a single gram...we can make all the necessary glucose from a process known as gluconeogenesis. So eating saturated fats will increase your LDL levels but its the SUGAR that makes it go bad. So make sure you understand this.and spread the word to everyone else who bad mouths cholesterol and LDLs. They are crucial for life. As a medic Meta analysis studies have shown the higher LDLs in your body..the longer you LIVED.

We don't want to make longevity the only standard for taking supplements. For instance, long term NMN was shown in a 2022 study to prevent the progression of age related hearing loss in mice. If you're old and losing your hearing, that's reason enough to take it. One other thing I just found, "(Metformin) reduced the need for health care services for severe COVID-19 by 42.3% after 14 days and the risk of Long COVID by 41.3% during a 10-month follow-up." For this to work you have to take the Metromin "early on" the Covid infection. That, in effect, means, taking it all the time.

So, given 5mg Limonene is the maximum you might find in a 1g joint (which has circa 200mg THC) it seems that you need to add Limonene to a vape ....because its never going to be found equal in dose with THC in any phenotype grown.....or could it be? I kinda doubt it.

300,000 YEO humans in north west Africa, Morocco, likely isn’t the best example of where modern humans evolved at but is where the best examples have been found. Much more will be found. Also west Africa is largely unexplored, and even the best explored places are turning up new fossils as we look closer and without biases. DNA is highly independent active of the bottleneck but not of the larger picture before that bottleneck.

According to the evidence, the human species evolved to primarily eat scavenged partly rotten meat, hunted megafauna, shellfish, and fish; along with occasionally eggs, insects, and grubs as available. The human intestinal tract, rather than being between that of a herbivore and a carnivore, is actually closer to being between a alpha predator and a carrion eater, that is to say the intestinal tract of a scavenger (length, acidity, etc). Not to mention humans have the shoulder structure of spear-throwers. Until a short time before agriculture, the main tool one of the oldest tools humans used was the spear. The Paleolithic injuries of both men and women demonstrate the dependence on close-in hunting. As the human gut shrank, the human brain grew big (i.e., expensive tissue hypothesis) because of greater access to animal fat, fat-soluble vitamins, marrow, and brains; particularly in being able to break open bones and skulls with rocks. This diet consisted of every essential nutrient, conditionally essential nutrient, and otherwise beneficial nutrient (DHA, C15, CLA, stearic acid, vitamin D3, Vitamin A as retinol, vitamin K2, vitamin E complex, minerals, choline, phospholipids, carnitine, carnosine, creatine, etc). And as these animal foods were wild, the foods from them also included every phytonutrient from the plants they ate. See the research of Loren Cordain, Bill Schindler, and Mary Ruddick. As for plant foods, wild fruit is only in season for 2-3 months of the year, even near the equator; as is also true of honey. Other than this, there are no other foods, specifically plant foods, that humans can chew and digest without tools and fire to process them. Humans have little ability to handle fibrous wild plants. The only reason humans were able to increase plant foods, besides greater tool development, was because of agriculture that provided less fibrous cultivars. And the only reason humans turned to agriculture was because of the megafauna die-off. For the two millions years before that, hominins were hypercarnivores, that is to say eating a diet of 65%-80% animal foods.

Iboga is the father of plant medicines. My experience in Costa Rica showed me what I needed to see. I saw my parents and the trauma they experienced in their lives. I understood why they raised me the way they did. They had unhealed trauma and could not see that they themselves were wounded and acted out of survival. For the first time in my life, I experienced true heart-opening forgiveness.

I find that sleep is very poor when doing total fasting. How can this be managed.
@nataliajimenez1870
@nataliajimenez1870 13 күн бұрын
Fasting can sharply increase stress hormones, so that can lead to poor sleep. You may try adding some fats at night when you are fasting, like having a chamomile tea and add butter or coconut oil to it (and blend it so it emulsifies and becomes easier to drink). With fat you are adding calories but you are not triggering an insulin response and fats tend to reduce stress hormones. Just be careful not to add a huge amount of fat and just enough to help calm your brain. Also long fasts may not be that good. Try to limit them to 36hrs once a week unless you have a very severe condition (like cancer)
@hyperTorless
@hyperTorless 7 күн бұрын
You need insulin spikes for producing serotonin which allows your body to enter in a sleep mode. It can be argued that both keto and fasting relies on the same mechanisms of emergency gluconeogenesis, which implies a cascade of stress-related hormones, and an under-utilization of insulin (which is used in lots of other things than "storing fat"). I simply wouldn't fast.

How fast will you be in ketosis with carnivore 🥩 zero carbohydrates diet?
@ScienceAppliedForGood
@ScienceAppliedForGood 18 күн бұрын
Thanks for inviting Dom D'Agostino. In a recent talk Tim Noakes mentioned an interesting idea that actually being in a ketosis is a natural state for humans, while using carbohydrates for food is an adaptation that has happened very recently from evolutionary point of view.
@nataliajimenez1870
@nataliajimenez1870 14 күн бұрын
I think this is particularly applicable for people whose ancestors lived in higher latitudes and had to depend mainly on animal foods during the hundreds of thousands of years that the Earth was going through the Ice Ages. So whites and Northeast Asians and Native Americans (who descended from Siberians) would be particularly well adapted to mainly carnivorous diet. People descended from people from Equatorial regions might be better adapted to the inclusion of carbs in their diets
@hyperTorless
@hyperTorless 7 күн бұрын
I don't understand how one can come to this conclusion. The closest to a keto diet we find in ancestral communities are the inuits (who eat mostly northern fatty fishes and muscle gluycogen), and they have specific mutation to *not* be in ketosis. If anything this is an argument against ketosis.
