Hello, just bought a Mackie Onyx 16ch. It came with Waveform OEM, any good? Thanks 😊

Hi! Unfortunately i don’t have any experience using waveform oem or mackie onyx 16ch but it looks like a solid mixer to me! You can connect it to your audio interface for more inputs
@jeffreydeasel9Күн бұрын
@sopi_beats I knew it wasn't popular software, but I thought I would ask THE expert 😉. Yes, so far it seems to be a very solid mixer!!! Thank you for your time and your thoughts. And yes, you are funny also 🤣

@sopi_beats I think I deleted my comment, sorry if I send it twice. I know that Waveform OEM isn't popular software but I thought I would ask THE authority herself 😉. So far the Mackie is a very solid mixer. Thank you for your time and thoughts and yes, you are funny 😊

Don't know if you remember but you had asked me if i had any questions for you. Well, i opened up a Pandoras' box of issues with my set up😂. Don't worry I will figure it out and have real questions for you. Oh, i had asked you about the diplomas on the wall behind you in the video. Thanks, you're awesome 😊

I'm a professional composer and mixing engineer. I'm 43 years old, and I've had tinnitus since I was 15. I don't hear anything above 16 khz. Don't let anything stop you. When tinnitus and/or hyperacusis make you feel like you need some rest from mixing and producing, you can use those periods to improve with your instrument at a very very low volume, you can do some research about new tools, do some admin work... etc. Stay strong!! BTW, in my underdeveloped country (Spain), hearing tests only measure up to 8khz. And doctors call it a day.
@Lee-vb4vh28 күн бұрын
May I ask if you are able hear speech or only certain musical instruments with lower frequencies? Thanks

thank you so much for sharing your story. this was a joy to read about and see you succeed regardless of tinnitus/hearing loss. more power to you!

So relatable.. my case is even worse because i got tinnitus + my ears became inconsistant, what does it mean? 2,7kHz is dominating my right ear...8Khz is much more audible in my left ear, 8Khz in right, 12,7khz left etc. So frustrating. How cooked i am? 🥲
@sopi_beats28 күн бұрын
thank you for sharing. depending on what you use your ears for, i don't think its that bad. many many big names in the industry from artists to engineers have some form of hearing loss due to the nature of work. but they are able to be successful and create hits either way. regarding the inconsistency in your ears, you might want to look into andrew huang's video on the same topic. my advice for you is to study how hit songs sound to you and to try and copy what they sound like in your own mixes or productions. for the frequencies you can't hear, there are frequency visualizers/spectral tools that can help. all is not lost, there's always a way to make it work. best of luck to you in your journey!
