Could you all have your discussions, about what did/did not happen back in the day, without bringing up my late brother? I am weary of all this posturing as if fighting and killing other people of color, or anyone else, is something we should be proud of, as a people. It's crazy that decades after he was shot down we black folks are still lashing out at each other. The Willie Lynch Syndrome is still alive and well in our community. It's time we strive to do better as a people. I have no issue with Mel as I know he knew my family and spoke well of my brothers Joey, Malcolm and Jamey. And so all know, everything that happened did not make the newspapers. Joey's death deeply impacted my family, especially since he had made significant life changes and had a bright future ahead of him..that did not involve gang banging in any form. When we know better..we need to do better. It's TIME!!! Thank you.
