I hope after being in the job for more than a year you will now update this video with correct information on some of the answers. Example, informed consent in research is not the same as consent in other areas. But well done for promoting research 😊

"Thanks for this power-packed guide. Please, what do you have to say about obtaining my master's in National Institute of Health Research as a clinical research nurse seeing other universities in the U.S.A., Australia, Canada, and the U.K., which may include Duke University School of Nursing, Johns Hopkins University School of Nursing, etc."

Ma,pls does it necessarily mean that I will specialize first before becoming a clinical trial research Nurse? I am currently an aspirant who is looking forward to getting her Bachelor of Science in Nursing right here in Nigeria. What will be my approach throughout my 4yr of foundational learning in Uni? What are the importance of becoming a certified Clinical Research Nurse? The path is somewhat uncertain. I have tried going through some materials to see if I can help my notion on clinical trial research Nurse. I duly appreciate the opportunity to be under your tutelage.

Thank you for your video. Community Nurse here: it's not just "simple, simple things" we get very complex situations. We do insulins and anticoagulants and simple wounds. But also unstageable pressure ulcers (deep and smelly) leg ulcers treatment to large and heavy legs, IV medications. PICC lines care, end of life care with syringe drivers and controlled drugs injections involved, we do all type of catheters, we prevent hospital admissions, provide health education. We liaise with other health care professionals like GP, OT,PT, dietician, SALT, mental health team, safeguarding, order equipment...we go to patients house into the unknown. We face dogs, cats, fleas, hoarders and very unkept environment and people. We also go to care homes. It is flexible and you work on your own most of the time driving from house to house with your own car and paying for your petrol upfront and with a business insurance for your car. You need to be organised and have good time management skills. There's loads of paperwork and surprises along the day.

Hello, Sorry did you mention in your interview that you were on maternity leave? Or did you tell them after? Also, did you resume immediatley or after you finished your mat leave? I am on mat leave and applying just like you did.
@OpeGodisАй бұрын
Hello Tomisin, I told them during the interview I was on maternity leave but emphasised the fact that my maternity leave was coming to an end as I had just 2 months left. Also I did my keeping in touch in the new post as it was still the same NHS.

@@OpeGodis Thank you! I have two weeks left on my mat leave. How do you suggest I bring it up in the interview? Or do I not mention it as I will be resuming soon. (Same trust. Diff department but same job and higher band)

I am doctor nhs for last 18 months, I was on 6 month fixed contract, I am eligible for maternity leave if working till 25th of august but the problem is my contract ends by 31st august.. I can take leave from 22nd September. The main concern is the maternity pay as SMP IS WAY TOO LOWER SO ANY idea what to in this situation. Can I still be eligible? Thanks

Hi, is it better to spread your OMP over a 52 weeks period? Do you pay less tax by doing this?
@OpeGodis2 ай бұрын
Hi Rachael, I wouldn’t know which is better as I haven’t explored the other option. I asked to spread it over a year so I wouldn’t be without any pay for the last 13 weeks of my maternity leave.
