Thank you for this video. please my wife Has been working with the NHS as a band 5 nurse for the past 12 months. Now she is 4 months pregnant. She got a new job as a Band 6 Senior staff nurse with ANOTHER NHS. Please i want to know will she be entitled to the Maternity pay and leave?
@OpeGodis Жыл бұрын
By all means, she should be entitled as long as she’s moving to an NHS and there won’t be any break in her NHS service.

Pls do you need to apply for benefit for te child despite receiving maternity pay from your trust.
@OpeGodisАй бұрын
Only if you are eligible for child benefit. If you are on a work visa, you are not entitled to public funds, so no benefits but if you are a permanent resident or citizen and your income is less than or equal to £60,000, then you may be eligible for child benefit. Please visit gov.uk to read more about eligibility for child benefits.

I am doctor nhs for last 18 months, I was on 6 month fixed contract, I am eligible for maternity leave if working till 25th of august but the problem is my contract ends by 31st august.. I can take leave from 22nd September. The main concern is the maternity pay as SMP IS WAY TOO LOWER SO ANY idea what to in this situation. Can I still be eligible? Thanks

Yes, you are still eligible

Hi, is it better to spread your OMP over a 52 weeks period? Do you pay less tax by doing this?
@OpeGodis4 ай бұрын
Hi Rachael, I wouldn’t know which is better as I haven’t explored the other option. I asked to spread it over a year so I wouldn’t be without any pay for the last 13 weeks of my maternity leave.
