Hello, went through the carb, great video thank you. Put back together and it started right up. Sputters when I get on it at about 30mph. Long story short pulled petcock and the screen filter was rotten and broke off into the tank. So been "rinsing" the tank with fuel and filter screens. Lots of debris. Rinsed with about 12 gallons of gas and still debris comes out. Is there a faster way? This will take forever. Thank you. 2005 Honda VTX 1300.

If you stills replying I have one question. Do you have to burp it with the tank off?
@footprintsinconc7 күн бұрын
Yes, because you need the air to escape...maybe you can tilt the tank upwards and just enough room to give you access to the coolant cap?

This has been the best video so far for helping a noob. Thank you so much for that. Question. 2005 Honda VTX 1300 R; The carb adjustment was almost 2 turns from closed. Technically about 1.85 turns. It is super cold when first started. Takes 10 minutes of not so smooth idling to warm up. Should I set it at 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 turns from closed? Also I saw the part about the stronger spring on the choke. Could that be some of the problem? Thank you.

Thanks for the video. Replaced my tensioner at 100k. Couple of tips from my experience. A simple plastic grocery bag twisted to make a rope, works great to pull off water pump belt. The new tensioner takes a lot more force to compress than 100k mile tensioner. Thus you need to use the two wrench method extra leverage to get the new tensioner to get it to move, as shown in video.

I went to your video for a refresher too. I’m a 64 yr old female and changed it the first time maybe 14 yrs ago? My husband is handy but I like to do some things myself. I still had the second bulb in the blister pack. The hardest part for me was getting the bulb socket back in. I only lifted the gear plate just enough to get my fingers in there. I have a 2004 Honda accord lx, 338K and still runs great! Original engine and transmission.

I struggled with the water pump belt for about 3 hours as I could not get it around the the smaller diameter water pump pulley cover sufficiently to feed it onto the pulley. Finally set it on the water pump pulley and set the belt on the crank pulley and zip tied it in place and cranked it on slowly directly into position. The belt came out of position on the water pump pulley but tight onto the front cover. From there I twisted and pushed the belt while cranking very slowly until the belt caught the lip, then slowly walked it over twisting and pushing with a 1.0" wide stick and voila, done in 40 minutes.

Hey bro so I’m having something similar to this with my vtx1300 2003 I just got a brand new battery and it has been doing good these past 2 days till I was trying to go to the store and it wasn’t turning over just clicking and made it seem the battery was dead so then I waited a little and after that I tried once again and it turned on like nothing?? What could my issue be??

When you were draining the radiator from that valve did you get all of the coolant from the system or only a portion and if only a portion, how much of the overall radiator capacity did you drain out?

Why can't we use the jack stand in the same spot we used the jack floor to lift the car?
@darkl3ad3r4 ай бұрын
I guess the problem is how do you lift the car to put the stands in place then lol but yeah I don't like these stand spots. I don't like anything about this at all.

@@darkl3ad3rMazda says to lift near the center or the front crossmember
@darkl3ad3r3 ай бұрын
@@wk5181the problem is getting your floor jack to those center points. If you can, go for it then use jack stands with some pinch weld adapters in the spots along the trim. Otherwise use the control arm like he did I guess.

@@wk5181 nice man. I just started changing my oil too. Did it on my Jetta and now going to do it the wife's Mazda 6. It's funny, I thought her car was going to be easier since the cabin air filter is way more user friendly to replace on the 6 than the Jetta, but now I'm seeing jacking up her car is going to be a pain compared to mine lol can't win em all.
