Mine was misplaced 😢 it was a nitemare I had mine put in fir my perimenopause , I kept bleeding and spotting over a Yr, until they found the mirrena misplaced! I was screaming 😱 the Dr office to try and find it 😢 Then they booked me in for an operation they found it pieced in my cervix 😢 I decided not to replace it! And continue on my micronised progesterone vaginally! Abd my oestragel ! Noone told me about the aftermath 😮 of the removal of the mireena! They just sent me home without not warning me about the mireena CRASH😮 I HAD MY PMS AND MY HEAVY PERIODS BACK WITH MY ANXIETY AND MY PERRIMENOPAUSE CAME CRASHING BACK!😢 ❤

I had it put in after surgery for endometriosis. I gained 17kgs and then was still getting pains, the doctor refused to believe me. I went for an xray because i slipped a disc in my back and the X-ray showed the mirena moved and was lodged into my uterus. I had it removed immediately... Never again.

I’ve only had the IUD for almost 6 months now but I’ve gained about 40lbs, have horrible acne breakouts worse I’ve ever had. Also mood swings are awful, crying, and just overall sadness/depression, also have increase of hair loss. Insomnia and joint pain has become unbearable! Made the appt to have it removed in June 2024, wish i could get it removed sooner but that was the earliest available appt, “allegedly”. **eyeroll Thoughts of death I’m also experiencing. Wish docs wouldn’t just sweep possible side effects under the rug and brush off their pts concerns. Glad you’re feeling better!

Omg thank you, i thought I was crazy! I've had nexplanon (the arm implant) for several months and I actually felt the exact same way as you did with mirena. Constant nausea, terrible anxiety, bloating, headaches... I'm 17 and I don't wanna take any risk of getting pregnant so I started the pill right after my nexplanon removal but I feel even worse than with nexplanon (very intense nausea 24hours a day, depression...) I stopped it today I hope I'll feel better soon bc I can't even sleep anymore and I feel so bad that I can't go to school everyday

I’m horrified that this thing is still on the market. I recently had one forced upon me by a gyno who refused to listen to me when I brought up my previous bad reaction to the contraceptive pill. He blatantly ignored my history of hormonal migraines and drug intolerances, and railroaded me into having a Mirena for period control. As soon as I got it I began to feel depressed, lethargic, had no interest in anything, and was suffering from bleeding and cramps 10x worse than the ones it was supposed to treat. About two weeks in I had a night where I was FRANTIC and in tears, just wanting it out. It felt like I had an alien parasite in my body. I even tried to remove it myself, but couldn’t do it. The next morning I hotfooted it to my GP and told her I would get down on my knees and beg her to remove it if that’s what it took. I felt on top of the world as soon as it was out. Yes, there was a crash, and the worst flu-like symptoms I’ve ever experienced - but I felt like *me* with flu rather than a total stranger. Your story resonates with so many I’ve seen, and with my own experience. The medical profession are brainwashed into believing the company line and most refuse to even acknowledge the possibility of side-effects. Women are being treated like children and gaslighted into accepting these damaging devices, and it’s absolutely disgusting the way we’ve been treated.

Thank you for sharing your experience. My gynecologist recommended the use of Mirena because I suffer from endometriosis and adenomyosis. I used Mirena for 7 months, and throughout this period, I experienced cramps, breakthrough bleeding, and gained 8kg in 3 months without changing anything in my habits. My belly was constantly bloated, and I felt more tired than normal. Additionally, my memory was terrible, I had a lot of acne, and my skin and hair became oily. I had to change all my personal hygiene and skincare products to those designed for oily and acne-prone skin. Due to all these side effects, I decided to remove the Mirena. I did this 6 days ago, and since then, I have suffered from terrible nausea, spending the whole day wanting to vomit, and experiencing super heavy bleeding full of clots. I hope my body returns to normal soon, as I'm feeling terrible.

It bring it to perspective to see another lady having the same problems as another.. and the thing we all have in common, is the iud. It is incredibly frustrating when you point out the iud to be the issue and Drs even er Drs push it off and say nahhhhhhh, nope, can’t be… my male Ear Dr was the the Only Dr to believe the iud to be the cause, pretty much said hormones can do weird things. Oh and a obgyn that checked for my strings, she believed the iud was the cause too.. :\

I know this video old but there's not alot of videos on this. I had my iud for about 2 years. Instantly I felt less joy or react to things that isn't normal, like blank emotion I didn't mind because naturally I'm a very emotional person. I also have generalized anxiety disorder and thought that maybe it would balance it out.. The first year was OK.. I'm on the second year now, I have crippling anxiety to the point I don't want to leave my house.. I'll get really dizzy and nauseous then anxiety kicks up to gear... I have bouts of depression but it's becoming way more frequent. Did I mention I feel like dream.state 24-7 like nothing is real. Anyway I've scheduled my appointment to get it removed I want to get back to my normal self.

Thank you so much for sharing, if it wasn’t for all the women I found having the same or worst symptoms (and all the doctors undermining the relation with the mirena, same as it’s happening to me), I know I’d have somehow really lost it. Also, it’s very peculiar the repetition of the death related sensations that many women are telling, there’s something really off there and, all the specialists, who are the people we should trust, specially under such vulnerable circumstances, are kept in denial. I’m only 24 and I’ve been having (for the first time) panic attacks and thoughts, that makes the sensation of being on an ongoing death process very close to unbearable. I’m gonna remove mine on Tuesday, until there I honestly can’t think about anything else. Thank you all again, sincerely.

I had a kyleena for around 3 ish years when I was like 15- 18 and I got it removed recently because it moved out of its place, I was feeling great before I got the Mirena, I had no anxiety from the first iud, periods stopped after a month of having iud, I have barley any acne, I was happy more. But last month April 6th I got the Mirena and I regret it, I want it removed but everyone is like don’t! Like I know I should listen to myself but it’s also like I got an iud to help with painful period cramps and heavy periods from before I had a iud. With the Mirena and it only being a month a few days after getting it placed I had one of the worst panic/anxiety attacks and even when I was diagnosed with general anxiety when I was younger I have never had that type of anxiety. I literally went back to the gyno a few days later and was like this happened and this happened and she was like “it has nothing to do with the iud, there’s no connection between the iud and anxiety” I was like, are you kidding me? So this is just a coincidence that it happened immediately right after I got Mirena? I have been researching and seeing a lot of people are experiencing the same thing as me, along with getting hives? I’m not sure if it’s from anxiety or stress or the iud but I’m thinking the anxiety is from the iud, causing me hives. I’m so not myself, I have had feelings of wanting to die because of the low motivation and feeling like no one cares or thinks I’m lying. It’s been really tough this past month and a half. I want it removed so bad but I also don’t want to deal with a period… I also tried multiple birth control pills but never helped until I had my first iud, kyleena. I was given a Mirena on accident without me even knowing and I was pissed, I wanted the same one I had before but I didn’t get it. what do I do?

About 6 months after insertion I used to have BV a lot like 4 separate occasions, and when I left my partner my BV disappeared. I think it may have affected my partners chemistry in a negative way from my body chemistry. I also gained 70 lbs. I don’t get cramps. My doctor said I seem to be having cysts which I never get normally. And I have adult acne/cystic acne. I hope this helps you friend.

@@duckiezoomie oh my thanks for sharing your experience with me, this BV thing sucks… about a week after removing my IUD (I had some bleeding the first days) I started a series of metrogel bc indeed I had BV my doctor says it probably didn’t help that I would constantly be spotting bc of the iud… bc the BV is so sticky we decided I would do the 7 days of metro w/ every other day including a boric acid suppository (which can be intense but just to try to do all I could) when I finished I did 7 days of intravaginal unscented probiotic suppository by biome…. Theyre great and it def helped I think. I genuinely don’t have that strong horrible odor anymore and it seems a lot of women get that with IUD’s! The stupid cramps are also gone thankfully…. I do believe the removal gave me a bit of a hormone crash or something bc I still felt /feel fatigue but overall a lot better:) now I just use my nuvaring which I much more prefer…. I was also afraid I would get ovarian cysts since I had a surgery for endometriosis stage 4 and a 7.4 cm cyst that had to be removed via laparoscopy back in 2020… one of the reasons I’m on these forms of local BC now, but it felt redundant w/the IUD symptoms and the risk of getting cysts … did you remove yours too?

Also I will add I just had a baby in December and that’s why I think they had me go on the IUD. The feeling when they put it in was a contraction. It literally felt exactly like a contraction so you are spot on when you said that. I also have an insanely high pain tolerance I didn’t even feel my contractions until I was over 6 cm dilated but I felt when they put that in and it hurt for a few hours.

Don’t feel bad about not being able to take the pill. That was the first one I wanted to try but I have pretty severe ADHD even when medicated I am very forgetful so my doctor basically told me that that one probably would honestly work against me. I’ve had a lot of people give me crap for it but honestly if you don’t take that pill at the same time every day it is not effective. The only person I know who’s on the pill is my sister and she is really good at remembering to take it so it’s worked for her. I was on it when I was really young to regulate my periods and it basically made my periods worse because I would constantly forget to take it and just basically constantly get my period. I would not be able to deal with that now as well as I’m in a relationship and me and my husband currently do not want any more kids yet. But you’re definitely not lazy for not wanting to do the pill anymore. There’s negative side effects to all of these birth-control‘s even the pill and the fact that you’re able to do it for four years you should be proud of yourself! I seriously think they need to look at women birth control and fix a lot of things. I’m at the point right now where I just got mine taken out and I honestly just wanna get a hysterectomy. But I want to have more kids in the future so that’s out of the question until then. Being a woman seriously can be annoying sometimes.

It’s because at the end of the day it’s just a paycheque for doctors. They don’t really care there payed to pretend to care. I have this IUD and I’m almost at the year mark and my headaches never go away and I’m more angry and moody I can’t wait to get it out worst decision I ever made. I’m up 15 pounds and it could be because of this iud I’ve got major brain fog! I find it very hard to trust health professionals on anything. My periods never even stopped if anything they’re extra long lasting up to 15 days . This iud not worth it at all.

Hi There - I know this is an older video but I had a mirena fitted January this year after my 3rd section , I didn’t do much research ( stupid i know ) and finally after 4 months of hell I’m getting it removed , the tension headaches , the consistency of constant down moods coupled with a death in the family made me on the brink - I was putting it off as I kept kidding myself about the outcome - but to be honest I’m so nervous for Thursday it is in the day I’m in Mat leave and felt enough is enough . I live in the uk and they take it out no questions asked usually once I mentioned a list they agreed to give me this appointment. Everything you have said is unreal , I have almost every symptom - the death thoughts and the hairs on my neck it’s embarrassing- I’m wondering if anyone got the crash that everyone is talking about ? I’m scared of that as at the moment I feel very edgy as it is - much love x x x x
