Murderously jealous, worldmax make killer snares and shells, not very pricey either considering the domestic alternatives.I want one of the green steel jade tube lug snares ive seen, under 200bux also, but i bet that drumkit wasn't very cheap.

I bought a Heavy Rock 9 a few weeks ago. What a monster best snare in the world, I'd say. Got a hazy Ambassador on the bottom and a CS clear on the top. I'm trying my other snares with CS clear on now. I never play with brushes so dunno why I never tried clear batters before

Your HR9 sounded a bit dark and muted what heads are on that? I'm not a Ludwig fan but the 402 sounded best, all your other Premiers sounded really good. The HR9 just doesn't sound like they usually do!

There once was a time when "PREMIER" REALLY was a PROFESSIONAL customer oriented Drum Company, but nowadays PREMIER is run by some Chinese company and they give a f'ckin shit to the needs of Professional or Semi Professional musicians! If you expect some kind of customer support/service get some drums made in Germany or USA! PLEASE don't ever expect ANY support from these folks!!! GEAR FOR MUSIC is only interested in selling products to the "Amateur" market! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS BRAND - they're only selling cheap crap without any support/customer service! Don't dare or waste som time to contact this "COMPANY"! Even my dog and his feline friends will answer YOUR inquiries and requests faster, friendlier and more politely than anybody from the “GEAR FOR MUSIC” SALE TEAM! Remember that “GEAR FOR MUSIC” is only interested in your purchase. GFM has no interest in selling good products, after all the investors have already invested a lot of money to buy the name “PEMIER DRUM COMPANY”! Gareth had tuned it to a nice medium pitch. I find that sort of tension is good for beefy sounds! If I was going for sludge or ultra poppy I’d change it but usually top head tension is enough change for what I’m after!

These are made in the factory in Taiwan where all of the high end eastern drums are made. I spoke to a reputable UK drum builder recently who said he’s constantly stunned by the quality of the drums for that factory. But yeah the drums were expensive for eastern made drums, however for me they are worth every penny. They sound stunning.

This is a great video for auditioning that perfect snare! For me though the Noble & Cooley has it, although the Premier 2000 is close, as is the Noonan, for a 13" drum? It is has a really great throaty sound. I also quite like the Pearl Masters Custom and Beverley too! Personally I do prefer a wood shell overall, always found metal shells a little lively?!

I'd agree with this, metal shells are kind of ringy, but I have found with the right heads and tuning you can get the tone to be really pleasing and harmonised with the snare sound then it comes a real positive 0 I achieved this with my HR9, CS clear and hazy bottom lots of tension on the heads and it sounds amazing. Way better than the one is this vid - although I am a rubbish drummer. Shame on me! I'm gonna try a CS clear on my P1 now. I have many of the classic Premiers!

This tune brings back memories for me; I used to play drums for a guy named Randy Hansen for a short stretch. Randy's been Jimi Hendrixing longer than Jimi Hendrix Jimi Hendrixed. You're nailing everything about this tune spot-on!
