I kept failing that first jump for a couple of reasons 1) the scrolling is wild, messy and unpredictable, its difficult to follow where the character is in screen space, he never feels at the centre of it. 2) because of the way the animation works with the collision, you have to jump way before you get near the edge of the platform, or the run animation will drop you through, or not register the jump press. this is really odd and hard to describe but it is really annoying and feels woolly in play. 3) the environment is often a mess of nonsense graphics tiles, whilst this didn't have a part in this fail, later sections and levels become unreadable. 4) combining the above factors makes me feel like I'm not in control, and progress feels random in this game.

wow thats a question! first arcade game iplayed in an arcade - i'm not sure, it may have been Space Invaders or Scamble. The first video game i ever remember playing is Pong. This was at home, on a console that only played variants of Pong - it had dial controllers. i was maybe 3 or 4 years old at the time. strong memories of playing that and then riding my big plastic Batman trike! The first arcade game that blew me away, one that i felt i'd seen the future, and experienced an experience like no other, was Atari Star Wars. From that point on i knew that video games were going to play a massive part in my life.

A pointless comparison. Nobody used the VGA box to a computer monitor. Not even scart. It's rf. The PS2 as well. Everyone using RF because we didn't really know what scart was for. It was only if there wasn't an arial to plug in. We were dumb! So really. Only a real console captured over rf cable will tell you the actual image quality. Even if it needs to be captured expensively, as a crt will all have different results depending on quality and condition. Filming crt's might be even harder than capturing analogue and converting it to digital.

Does this adapter offer regular component output, or are these just the raw signals for red, green, blue and sync? Just wondering if I can plug my TurboGrafx-16 *directly* into my Sony Wega 27" CRT TV with this (it has component inputs), or would I also need a video transcoder in between that converts SCART/VGA into 240p component?
@retrospiritsgaiden
@retrospiritsgaiden Ай бұрын
i've only ever used the Scart out on this as i don't have appropriate leads for the other outputs (the composite you can get with a the standard PC engine lead anyway). i have a Sony Trinitron and the MD2 RGB lead goes straight from the device into scart socket on the back, of it i don't need another device in between the console and TV - the Sony Wega has no scart input?. i think it would be raw RGB from the other outputs, i have no idea what cables you need for that, but i imagine the result once combined would be a composite image similar to what comes out of the standard port on the console. i'm not sure any of this helps you sorry! but for what it's worth the RGB scart signal is great.
