Hey guys, hows it going. Do not use a standard power bank. In extreme heat it will explode voiding your car insurance as they are not an approved car accessory. The only battery I have heard that is safe is a LIFEPO4. According to web they can handle extreme heat without voiding your car insurance. Take care.

One question. Does it sense the temperature of the air coming in from the vent or the room temperature? The heat or cold trigger is the temperature of the room or the air comming in from the vent.
@dadstoysnthings
@dadstoysnthings 3 күн бұрын
It's designed, so it works more with the air coming from the vent, and I said that because it does sense the room temperature when the fan is not running. When the fan runs, it blows into the sensor changing the reading from that of the room temperature.

I'm glad it worked on my dashcam, and since I made this video, I switched to using the Bluetti EB3A as I wanted to leave the camera running longer. But if I'm just leaving it for a few hours in the parking lot, I still use the big power bank.

Pgytech has a smoother design and also features an opening to quickly remove the battery. If you want to mount a DJI mic, however, Smallrig is designed so the mic is flushed to the side. Otherwise, Pgytech is also a very good cage.

Any guess approx how many hours a fully charged battery would run a 1/3 HP , prob 600-700 watts.. pump continuously?
@dadstoysnthings
@dadstoysnthings 20 күн бұрын
Disclaimer: I'm an enthusiast and not an expert by any means. This is from what I've read in the past. Well, let's say the output of your pump is 700 watts. To determine the run time, you need to multiply 10 x battery capacity / output. So if the battery capacity is 100ah, then it's (10 x 100) / 700 = 1.43 hours. Assuming the pump is running continuously. If you know the duty cycle, which means the on vs. off run of the pump, then it's another formula, but my guess is that depending on the duty cycle, the battery will last way longer. Also, it depends on the battery condition. If it's past its own life cycle of charge vs. discharge, the capacity decreases.
@Becker333

@@dadstoysnthings thx for reply…from our last storm experience….we need something that could run 8-12 hours…as worst case backup power scenario. Ty
@dadstoysnthings
@dadstoysnthings 20 күн бұрын
It will all boil down to the duty cycle. For example, if you have a 700-watt sump pump, that draws 5.83amps. If the pump only runs for 20 seconds every 5 minutes, for example, a 100ah battery assuming it's still 100 % capacity will theoretically last for 250 hours. There's online calculators that you can use for this. The safest bet is still a generator, though, for extended periods without power.

Hi what about using a 40Ah battery? How much time i can expect of backup?
@dadstoysnthings
@dadstoysnthings 22 күн бұрын
Hi, it really depends on the pump that you have and how often the pump runs. Check how much your current your pump draws. For example, if your pump draws 4 amps of current, the battery could provide 10 hours of backup power. Still depends on the current state of the battery, frequency of pump runs etc.

I have a cube from Peak Design, and it doesn't fit. The best thing that Wandrd can do with this bag is 1) forego the cube and change the design of the camera area to be the same as the Lite. 2) add a side handle 3) shorten the top compartment and the tote handle.

@AntiDecepticonCampaign Were you referring to Bruticus? I think I have seen a Toyworld Bruticus, which may be a better scale. But then again, Transformers has an out of this world scaling. Like how the entire constructions plus all others fit inside Astrotrain, or Megatron transforming into a gun that Starscream can hold, yet he's bigger than starscream when in bot mode. Ok, sorry, enough of that, I have no issues with Bruticus. I had the stand made to make sure he's supported as all the odd shapes makes it a challenge to keep him posed in a certain way. And as with any TF, just be careful on those small joints as they're the breaking points and not to turn them the wrong way.
