The after market cases all suck they tend to require slight modding due to the 1000 series having 4 different motherboard revisions with slightly different dimensions but the quality of the plastics are still crappy.

Assuming you're using a monitor to play on while capturing the scaler gameplay, I'm curious about what your monitors' specs are? I have the elgato hd from 2013 and a BenQ monitor with 75hz refresh rate and 5ms input lag, I'm wondering if it'd be good enough at a speedrunning stand point compared to a crt? All my av capture cards are busted so I'm working towards an hdmi setup so I won't have any future issues, hoping all I'd need is the retroscaler2x lol.

Yea it's a shame you can't get nice quality third party shells as I'd really like a glass screen lens on my 1000, as you can't use those with an original shell. Third party Gameboy shells by comparison are incredible.

so, im gonna say one thing about the batteries, the thing is that the 3600 batteries are not even 3600 you cant made the same size battery as 1200 and make it 3600 its just imposible, i saw on reddit and other sites that people say the same thing, they are fake and its better to buy original 1200 from sony but new.

Im using this in a snes with s-video. After 30 min on, an audio delay starts. I need to restart the retroscaler to fix it. The problem is that i need to restart it every 30 minutes. Am i doing something wrong? Is it not working right?

Thanks dude! Best overview of the Retroscaler2x for N64. The upscaler scene has been messed up for so long since Retrotink stopped making the 2x, there are so many of us who just can't stretch to the 5x and options like OSSC are still pricey and dificult to find in the UK at least. Radx2 was a cool budget option but being Retrtink based also it's dead, no wonder people just emulate! I'm gunna try and pixck up a Retroscaler2x I think and some decent cables.

The retro 2x scaler is well worth the $30-$40. Best you’ll get at that price. Identical to the Retrotink 2x but constructed better. I had the real thing and there is no difference in picture quality.

Stick drifting problem can be fixed by using small washers between the analog stick and faceplate. These aftermarket faceplates don’t measure up 100% and what the washers do is apply a little bit more pressure on the analog stick contact points. Should do the trick

You should have kept the og back and just swap the front faceplate, also that battery is not really 3600mah, more like 500 mah 😂. Otherwise clean build. You can take that batt apart and use the board for big battery mod.

i’ve seen people using like regular tape instead of heat resistant like you, i’ll use heat resistant just to be safe but isn’t it bad to use regular ass tape could melt or mess with heating idk
