Why did you choose AirTable instead of Notion? Why WebFlow?
@ChristianBachmann-Webdesign4 ай бұрын
I think it’s complicated to post the pages content from notion thru API.

That was really valuable! Thank you! I had just begun dabbling around Drapcode, particularly for its ability to export code and easier learning curve. I come from a page design background so it was familiar. If I were more skilled, I would move on to Wappler. (It's looks amazing!) I really appreciated the insight on these options. I now have the data to eliminate some options with an informed viewpoint. My only concern with Drapcode is feeling secure because it is new and less well known. What's your view?

@udaynj Жыл бұрын
It seems there are 2 categories of tools: no-code and low-code. Within these, there are again 2 sub-categories: mobile app oriented (flutterflow/draftbit) and desktop web oriented (webflow etc). Is there a tool that does it all well? I know FlutterFlow and Draftbit say they build PWAs, but its very, very hard to build a full fledged enterprise desktop app using them. I don't even see any videos showing how to build a web site. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Retool seems to be the closest to both but has 2 significant issues: 1) they charge per user for running your applications and not just building, so the costs go up very fast 2) they are built for only internal applications (whatever that means). I suspect there is going to be reckoning soon and there is going to be a severe and drastic consolidation of players into a few: Bubble, Unqork, Retool, Appgyver (SAS), etc. Wonder where that will leave the other players since their products are all practically identical with nothing to distinguish between them.

Two comments that I would like to get your opinion on as relates to these app builders vs Bubble. I see that in Bubble, it comes with a built-in database option, so you don't need a 3rd party cloud provider for your db and api's talking to that db. Also, Bubble seems oriented to the web but these 2 seem built for the app market. Is there any tool which has all of it - db built in, app and web support? Seems to me that all the tools have some limitation, which means that none of them are fully NO CODE platforms. For the missing pieces, you will have to be a developer to fill those gaps. Any comments?
@AlexBThomsen Жыл бұрын
Hi if you want something that covers everything decently well, probably Bubble is your best bet since the marketplace offers ways to wrap your web app into a mobile app. Yes for sure no-code has limitations and will for a very long time! Ultimately having some coding knowledge will help big time and for customization would be needed. Alternatively, talk to Chat GPT and it can generate you the code ;)

Do you think AppGyver is the best no code mobile app development platform? Specifically for publishing to app marketplaces
@AlexBThomsen Жыл бұрын
I think "Best" is a strong one. I personally use Draftbit a looot more because it gives the low-code flexibility. If you want pure no-code then Appgyver is a great option and offer more logic complexity than e.g Adalo

I found learning an actual framework easier than using wappler. To even get to the point where you have a boilerplate app with authentication is easier using actual code than using wappler.

Looks really cool. The only concern I would have with using this in an Enterprise setting is LTS. Other than that it's probably really practical if you just need to throw together a quick API for a smaller project. Saves you so much time. EDIT: I played around with Canonic a little bit and I have to say I'm encountering an unpleasant amount of bugs with their UI and documentation. These include crashes that force you to reload the page, inputs for endpoints disappearing in the UI after deploying and some dead links in their documentation. I'm sure they'll fix it eventually but at the time of writing this comment (11/07/2022)[dd-mm-yyyy] it's quite buggy.

Thanks for showing how you built this, gives a good into to how Bildr works... do they have to host the application when it is complete? What if you wanted to sell this same type of website to a client, can you easily do that?
@AlexBThomsen2 жыл бұрын
Currently, they are hosting the application for free, not sure if you can do it yourself. Some ways you could sell it to a client by 1) making them the owner of this workspace and they remove you after 2) Export the code and sell them that

good vid! When FultterFlow talks about Firebase, can Firebase be a local database stored with the app on the user's phone, or is Firebase always in the Cloud, and the phone needs to be online in order to access it's Firebase database ?

to my knowledge I only know of Firebase in the cloud. For offline storage, you could use something like your phone cache and when user is online again send info to Firebase

Hosting is difficult cause it involves hosting the NodeJS server as well, so a basic hosting packages wont work, you need to get a VPS, your own virtual private server and load everything there.... But Wappler contains internal functionality to make it easier... Your review was spot on.
