Bernard Cribbins a little Jem of an actor, one of Britain's best actors of the late-1950's1960's-1970''s in my humble opinion, his talent ranged from comedic to serious character acting, as well as voice-over's, TV shows, he could even sing, two of his most popular songs were 'Right said Fred' and 'Hole in The Ground' as well not bad not bad indeed, a British national treasure no less, a time when you didn't have to plug in your toothbrush just your radio!

BBC timeline on full show. If that phone all has been made in 2004 the guy on the other end would’ve played along with it and had a bit of a laugh. 2014 comes along and he just couldn’t cope. 2024- they would take him fully seriously.

The show’s production was extremely tight back then. They had to get a certain amount of shots every day because there wasn’t any money for extended deadlines. Basically, everyone was under a lot of pressure and the set required discipline. She might sound horrid, but she’s just making sure they get this shot as quickly as possible.

1970’s so simple: “We need to shoot Roger like he’s looking into the door mirror of a truck.” “Let’s get a truck door mirror and film him saying the live in it.” 2020s: “We need to shoot Roger like he’s looking into the door mirror of a truck.” “OK, so we are going to need a green screen set up, with a CGI rendered truck door mirror, with some added vibration effects to make it seem like it is moving. Then we can mix in to some location footage, blend in the two images using auto tracking software. Oh, anyone know where we can source a truck engine sound effect from?”

It is in the sense that those episodes were shown once. They weren't avaliable to watch in demand anywhere. So unless you recored it on a video tape people wouldn't have seen it since. Tv episodes didn't stay in the ziechgiest as long because once they had aired that was really it.
