Options in NZ are start your own claim bit of a process and cost to set up, or buy someone out of their claim, or a share of their claim, cost can vary from anywhere 5k to 50k or more depending on location and gold etc, plus annual fees of around $1100, so not a cheap exercise but is the only way to do it legally here, apart from a few public areas which you can go to for free and use hand tools :)

depends which area you are in, where i go is in Otago area only real places to go that are legal in that area i would recommend is Arrowtown public area or 12 mile public area have had some pretty good days in both in the past, there are others to try as well or if your lucky enough to have access to a private claim

Yes it is ment to be summer the snow was from a random cold front that lasted a couple of days it was completely gone within that day and the temp was back up, NZ summers can be a bit all over the show sometimes

Cheers John yes was a bit fresh that's for sure , coil goes pretty good is the second one I've had first one failed due to water damage after a few trips covered under warranty so all good be good to try the small nugget finder coil if they ever bring it out , any gold is good all adds up can't beat that thrill of the dig 👍

I found that the inner shaft slides up inside so needs to be up that end you could put it in at the join and push it up I guess , hopefully doesn't avoid the warranty comes apart really easy and there is no warranty stickers ,kinda a poor factory design but I guess they mainly are used in the dry

I also figured it would be a better option than to allow water dribbling over the unit as that would some how void the warranty even tho they say it's splash proof... im alot more carefully now about how I sit the machine down now and move it around after being in the water haha also remove the inner shaft piece when I get home let it all dry out works a treat 👍

Yeah mate eggs are free range home grown, according to google double yoker is 1 in 1000 odds triple is 1 in 25 million odds I got 2 triple yoke eggs in the same week seems to be when they start learning to laying for the first time they get a bit mixed up I guess poor chicken trying to push that out 😳

It sits on your back real nice and has heaps of places to put stuff only issues I've had with it is the stitching for the shoulder straps wasnt great both broke after a few outings apart from that is a nice pack 👍
